Colin Ames-Beaumont is a vampire. Created by the Nosferatu,
he has more powers than your average vampire. But he can't
share blood with other vampires or his blood destroys them
as if God were burning them up from the inside. A mix
between modern man and a French aristocrat from the days
before the guillotine, Colin has wealth, looks, an enviable
position in both the San Francisco vampire community and
the vampire world in general. But no lady warms his bed or
touches his heart. A lady for his bed he wants, but one for
his heart? Such a creature doesn't exist. No one has ever
fit the bill, not even Savitri, lovely vision that she is.
Colin would take Savitri to his bed, this girl with ties to
his world and the world of Chaos, a hell beyond imagining,
as well as ties to the Guardians, who keep all evil
creatures from destroying everything we know. But take
Savitri to his heart? He wants no one to touch the inner
Colin. Savitri, however, knows what she wants, and what she
wants is Colin -- heart, blood and soul.
Meljean Brook pulled me into Colin and Savitri's
world at the very first scene and kept me there throughout
the entire story. She has a great way of bringing her
characters to life -- even the undead ones. DEMON MOON was
fresh, yet familiar, a winning combination in every way. I
loved the characters and returning to familiar scenes from
the previous stories in the series: Falling for Anthony
(#1) from the anthology HOT SPELL, DEMON ANGEL (#2) and
Paradise (#3) from the anthology WILD THING. I'm hoping Ms.
Brook is planning to continue this storyline -- I am hooked.
You will be, too. A very good read.
Deadly creatures from the realm of Chaos herald the return
of an imprisoned nosferatu horde, and the bond between a
vampire and his lover is their only protection-and their
only passion.
