Rene Broussard and his partner, Chessa Tomas, are tailing
Natalie Lambert due to some suspicious deaths in her family
in Tennessee. Natalie has returned to New Orleans because
she feels comfortable there. However, the troubles that
plagued her in Tennessee have followed her to New Orleans.
Only with the help of the detectives will she be able to
learn what is happening to her.
Rene knows that he shouldn't sleep with the woman he is
guarding but there is something about her that makes her
irresistible. The troubling behavior of his partner and
her inexplicable absence leads Rene into trouble, which he
could never have envisioned. Rene has long known that
Chessa was a vampire but he never expected to find himself
the meal for a vampire just discovering her indentity.
With the help of a mysterious friend of Natalie's, Natalie
and Rene will escape the evil seeking her out. At the same
time, they will thwart Chessa's family and their plans for
Natalie.
While much of the story was intriguing, I felt like there
was too much left open-ended. We learn very little of
Natalie's friend, Simon, and his background. There are
several questions that I would like to have seen answered.
One lusty bite begins a journey into a dark desire...
Natalie Lamber'ts life has changed in the space of
weeks--and she has no idea why. Out of control, desperate to
understand her shifting world, Natalie flees to New Orleans,
hoping to lure her parents' murderer out of the dark and
bring an end to the trail of dead loved ones. Instead, she's
attacked by crazed birds, swarmed by locusts, and saved by a
Cajun cop who awakens all her latent desires.
When Rene Broussard rescues the virgin vampire, he ends up
in her bed and becomes hers for life in one lusty bite.
Together, they fight the evil threatening to destroy The
Born vampires, while they discover a treasure of love they
can share for eternity.
