Thriller

Jude Asher first called on outside forces to change his destiny as a child. Now a wealthy entrepreneur with his star soaring, he's prepared to make his most daring bet ever to reach the pinnacle of earthly power. Jude's twin brother, Thomas, has chosen a different path as a reporter for The New York Times. As much as he's tried to cut himself off from his brother's trajectory, he finds himself drawn back in ... and troubled by the secret that only he knows.

Surrounded by principalities and powers, each brother must choose their own path-for good or for evil.

Re: Jude

A scary thought to think of one person owning that much
power. I hope we as human race do not let that happen
again, though our bible tells us it will some day. I find
it hard to believe that we could all agree to let one person
rule with that much power, there is so much disagreement,
for lack of a better word, in the world today. I don't
see how we could ever come together in large enough numbers
to allow it.

Spiritual warfare is real. We need to be aware of the
tactics of the enemy of our souls. Hopefully, books
such as this will help us understand.

Jude seems like a very exciting book! I know there are such forces in our world, but, I also know that most of humankind can stay true to an honest and good life. Evil is strong, but they say good is stronger. We can always hope it is. In any event, this book sounds like one I will be reading-win or lose this contest. Thank you for the chance to win a copy.

I know I'd love to read this book. No one should have that much power.

Really interesting concept for a book. Can't wait to read this one.

Hmmmmm. Has Jude read Macchiavelli's The Prince? And does his
borrowed juju exempt him from the self-restraint necessary to
keep one's power?

I heard about this book a few weeks ago and I REALLY want to
read it. Compelling plot and brilliant writer!

I would love to read this book. Stories like this give me chills, because I know one day, everyone is going to want to break that deal. And demons are not good ones to cross.

This sounds like the coming Antichrist. The book sounds fascinating and I'd love to read it. I volunteer at a Christian Lending library and I would love to donate this book to them.

Your book has an interesting story to tell, and I absolutely believe that perhaps there could be someone who believes that they are an emperor god who will try to reign again, but they will not become one. Somehow, an army of some other entity will have them removed from power before they can completely take reign, or get their plans put into law. These are scary times, and anything is possible. Thank you for writing just not food for thought, but a possible heads' up!!

My goodness, this is a book to reflect on, how power can lead our lives and those around us. This book sounds like a sit up in bed with the covers close at hand to hide our heads into. thank you!

"Emperor gods have ruled the earth only one time before in modern history."

I'll go ahead and qualify that this statement would be true only if you're
referring to "modern Western history." In other cultures, emperors who rule as
gods have continued in China and Japan to the late 19th century and early-mid
20th century.

I enjoy fiction that twists history and religion (to frankly make it more interesting.) I hadn't heard of this book but I'm curious now. Thanks for the blog post and the giveaway.

This book sounds great! Sounds like there will be a lot of angst for Jude, especially regarding his brother. I may have to read it even if I don't win it, LOL!

There are times when I'm tempted to make a deal with the devil. Alright, I do think about it and my conscious won't allow me to sleep. Great story that reflects everyone's desire except we have higher standards to ourselves.

Selling yourself to the devil means a life out of your hands.
Saving his brother offers a contrast to the life he chose and
a chance to redeem himself and straighten up his ways.
