Romance Paranormal

Deep within the Yucatan jungle, a demon has awakened... Gretchen Finch's job would be much easier if she weren't alone in the jungle with a brilliant recluse whose every glance sets her on fire. But the more she focuses on her work, the closer she gets to unlocking the mysteries of a terrible creature—the Night Demon—that threatens the world as she knows it. Though her scientific mind tells her it's impossible, she's beginning to believe the ancient Mayan tales as the sinister jungle comes alive around her. Lukas Smith has spent hundreds of years searching for answers to his immortal Night Walker nature. As a series of ancient glyphs become clear, he's about to find out more than he'd ever hoped, but the more he learns, the more his fate intertwines with the Night Demon, and the harder it becomes to hide his immortal secret from the beautiful, intelligent Gretchen. Together, they must find a way to stop the inexplicable violence and mass destruction surging across the earth before the Night Demon destroys more than just mankind.

Re: Night Demon

Nothing is sexier then a man who thinks ;-)
Oh sigh. I love me a good tortured hero. What ever does that say about me? *Grin*
(Chelsea Brooks 12:30pm April 14, 2013)

I love a man with a big sexy brain! Your covers are gorgeous!
(
Elizabeth Haney 1:35am April 14, 2013)

There's definitely nothing better than a man with a good head on his big shoulders! Your books sounds great, Lisa, thanks for the giveaway!
(
Anita H 4:48am April 14, 2013)

Of course, I always want to root for an intelligent but strong
guy. Can't root for someone who's not witty or entertaining!
(
Ada H. 5:57am April 14, 2013)

I love brains! Haha. I happen to be the nerdy-guy fan.
(
Karin Anderson 6:21am April 14, 2013)

Man brains...might be something a little too rare to find, but
not in these stories :)
(
Brittany Savage 8:30am April 14, 2013)

My Heros have to have brain.
(
Lisa Garrett 8:59am April 14, 2013)

I really like a smart hero.
(
Pam Howell 9:05am April 14, 2013)

Where can I find a man that thinks?
(
Cathy Thomas 9:16am April 14, 2013)

whether in movies or real life- a man must be able to converse as well as make love.
(
Mal Kaplan 9:26am April 14, 2013)

Brains are a requirement. Brawn is a bore.
(
Sharon Berger 9:42am April 14, 2013)

Yes, actually I like my heroes to have lots of brain. Its so irritating
if the heroine outshines him with her smarts. I like them to be equal in
brain. Makes for a more interesting story/read.
(
Lazydrag0n Puff 10:07am April 14, 2013)

Brains are good.
(
Sandy Giden 10:14am April 14, 2013)

If a hero saves your life by pulling you out of your burning
vehicle after a major crash i don't think you care if that
person has any brains or not.
(
Kent Cook 10:57am April 14, 2013)

A smart hero is a sexy hero! Add in the tortured immortal aspect, and he's my
kind of guy.
(
Becca Luman 10:58am April 14, 2013)

cool cover but brains are necessary
(
Debbi Shaw 11:48am April 14, 2013)

Intelligence is one of my top traits in a hero (or heroine.) Thanks for visiting.
(
G S Moch 12:08pm April 14, 2013)

Definitely! Heroes have to be intelligent to win my approval.
(
Anna Speed 12:33pm April 14, 2013)

Definitely, heroes must have brains
(
Mary Hay 12:54pm April 14, 2013)

I love intellectual men. I find that a man that is smart and witty can pretty much have his way with me. One who debates me, is interesting is too desirable and impossible to resist.
(
Carla Carlson 1:02pm April 14, 2013)

I actually have one of your books on my wish list for Amazon.com!
(
Callie Stuck 1:19pm April 14, 2013)

Oh yes... I like heroes to have some brains.
(
Colleen Conklin 1:26pm April 14, 2013)

An intelligent man is more interesting and funny, can think up new ways to please you and new things for you to do together. If his life falls apart he's resilient. Why would I want to read about a man who wasn't intelligent? Tortured, now that could be another matter. This challenging life will build character, but my current gripe is against male characters who expect women to do as they say, just because they were beaten until they were six. You don't have to drag a bad childhood around with you. So tortured but resilient would be a better hero.
(
Clare O'Beara 3:13pm April 14, 2013)

Thanks for all the amazing comments everyone!!! So glad to
see so many readers want some Brains with their Brawn! :)

@Chelsea I too and a SUCKER for a tortured hero!!! There is
nothing better than that moment they finally crack a smile
and laugh... My heart melts all the way to my socks! :)

@Kent - I agree if you save me from a car wreck I wouldn't
care if you could craft a complete sentence! LOL But for an
entire book, I might yearn for someone who can keep up an
intelligent conversation, right? :)

@Callie YAY!!! I hope someone makes your "wish list" come
true! :) Hope you enjoy the Night Series! :)

@Clare Oh you're right about the source of the "tortured"
hero. I don't like them to pouty and broody, but if
circumstances have led them to lead a life they never
intended that's the kind of hero I enjoy watching as they
navigate and change their stars... :)
(
Lisa Kessler 4:54pm April 14, 2013)

Love you, Lisa!
(
Amanda Jones 5:02pm April 14, 2013)

Awww thanks Amanda!!! *waving* Thanks for coming by! :)
(
Lisa Kessler 5:05pm April 14, 2013)

No problem! Love supporting you and well your really sexy men! I might take your harem. LOL
(
Amanda Jones 5:10pm April 14, 2013)

I love tortured heroes! But as much as I love brawn, brains are an absolute
necessity! You have to be able to talk to the guy eventually.... Lisa, why
haven't I read any of your books?? Now I have to buy some!
(
Karen Arrowood 5:18pm April 14, 2013)

@Karen Ha! Okay you just made my day! LOL I hope you enjoy
the Night Series!!!

@Amanda You might have to arm wrestle the heroines first! LOL
They won't be quick to let you borrow their heroes... :-D
(
Lisa Kessler 5:34pm April 14, 2013)

If a hero has no intelligence, I get bored really quick. I definitely love smart men.
(
Helena Ferrell 5:40pm April 14, 2013)

Lisa's Night Series is awesome! Highly recommended!!!!!
(
Linda Townsend 6:00pm April 14, 2013)

Yes, there definitely has to be a brain along with the brawn.A
sense of humor is helpful, too! And, of course the heroine's
will be smart,too!
(
Sharlene Wegner 6:06pm April 14, 2013)

Absolutely! Brain trumps brawn for me. Unlike the Julie Brown
song (I Like 'em Big and Stupid) I like them smart enough to
converse with, and more importantly, emotionally able to grow.
(
Diana Troldahl 6:23pm April 14, 2013)

When a hero is made up of "brawn," as you put it, what I like to see is for him to have a tender side, too. I like to see a part of him literally melt away, so that we can have a little peek inside. This way he's not so much of a bully, per-se, and it actually gives him more strength as a person. The Mayan people have always fascinated me, and I am looking forward to reading your book. In fact, my Husband has been fascinated with them, too, and I'm sure this is one book that I will probably pass on to him when I get done reading it!! It's a great title, and you could put a bag over the guy's head on the cover. I'd still read the book, knowing the story line!!
(
Peggy Roberson 6:32pm April 14, 2013)

I like a hero that is sexy and has a brain :)
(
Aimee Robison 6:48pm April 14, 2013)

Absolutely brain to go with the brawn!
Blessings,
Marjorie
(
Marjorie Carmony 6:49pm April 14, 2013)

Very intriguing! Can't wait to read it.
(
Carolyn Nevels 6:50pm April 14, 2013)

Intelligence in a hero--yes!
(
Denise Holcomb 7:06pm April 14, 2013)

Hot AND Smart? Color me there!! ;)
(
Liberty Ann Ireland 7:12pm April 14, 2013)

I require brain-- and compassion. An orgasm is for a moment.
Conversation is for a lifetime.
(
Mary Ann Dimand 7:14pm April 14, 2013)

Brute strength is not enough. The hero needs brain otherwise rushing into a situation could get him kill.
(
Kai Wong 7:34pm April 14, 2013)

If you can't have a conversation with them, it just ends up
boring. Love a man with intelligence!
(
Vicki Hancock 7:42pm April 14, 2013)

Who even wants to deal with a man with no brains?
(
Sheila True 8:01pm April 14, 2013)

Definitely a hero with some brain
(
Timothy Younger 8:04pm April 14, 2013)

Yes, to brains with the brawn! Intelligent men appeal to me
and I like the trait in my heroes.
(
G. Bisbjerg 8:05pm April 14, 2013)

I love the brawn but that gets boring pretty quick without the brain.
(
Kathleen Yohanna 8:18pm April 14, 2013)

My heroes definitely have to have brains.
(
Janie McGaugh 8:28pm April 14, 2013)

I giggled at the question. I always used to joke that I liked
my fellas big and dumb...jocks, really, who'd been hit in the
head one too many times. Now that I'm older, I find smart men
very appealing. The biggest sex organ is the brain!
(
Catherine Lee 9:08pm April 14, 2013)

I love an intelligent hero. 200 years is a long time to be a
tortured hero.
(
Mary Preston 9:13pm April 14, 2013)

Give me a smart man with a sense of humor .
(
Deb Pelletier 9:28pm April 14, 2013)

Yes, please. I'll take two!
(
Christine Didyk 9:32pm April 14, 2013)

Brains and brawn how I would sleep each night in the arms of that hunk!!!
(
Lisa Fitzgibbons 9:47pm April 14, 2013)

Brains and brawn
(
Cheryl McEwen 10:16pm April 14, 2013)

brains are very important!! brawn doesnt hurt though ;)
(
Dawn Saenz 10:17pm April 14, 2013)

Wow! Thanks so much for all the great comments and I gotta
tell you, Lukas from Night Demon has a crooked smile going
at all your answers! :)

@Linda Thanks for the shout out Linda!!! So glad you're
enjoying the Night Series!!! :)

@Peggy The Mayan civilization is fascinating to me too!!! I
was lucky to travel down there to research for the book and
it was a life changer... Really amazing people and very
under-utilized in fiction for the most part. Hope you and
your hubby enjoy the book! My husband liked it but there's
a chance he's biased... :)

@Mary Ann - I love your answer!!! LOL So true!!! :)

@Catherine - Super great point!!! :-) Lukas agrees too! LOL

@Mary - You're right Mary, that's why when I wrote Night
Walker, I knew I had to give Lukas a happy ending in Night
Demon... He deserved it! :)

Thanks for all the comments everyone! I'll keep checking
back...

Lisa :)
(
Lisa Kessler 10:34pm April 14, 2013)

I'll take them both Brains and Brawn Please!!
(
Tina Myers 11:42pm April 14, 2013)

YES I LIKE BRAINS WITH THE BRAWN!
(
Shelley Summers 1:36am April 15, 2013)

He needs some brains, def. I prefer being able to have a
conversation with him LOL
(
Linda Larsson 10:09am April 15, 2013)

Oh definitely! Brains last longer than brawn in most cases.... And I kind of need to talk after a few years down the row with the guy... :)
(
May Pau 10:44am April 15, 2013)

Thanks for all the wonderful comments!!!

Hope you all enjoy the Night Series!

Lisa :)
(
Lisa Kessler 1:48pm April 15, 2013)

Sure! Brains are very important.
(
Roxana Perez 2:39pm April 15, 2013)

My hero needs to have brains and be intelligent to go along with his brawn which makes him a desireable (tortured) hero to fascinate any reader!
(
Linda Luinstra 5:17pm April 15, 2013)

Love a man with a brain.
(
Theresa Norris 8:42pm April 15, 2013)

Oh yes, love a man with a brain
(
Rita Wray 9:48am April 16, 2013)

Love paranormal romance! Brains and brawn is a winning combination for me.
(
Bonnie H 11:23am April 18, 2013)

Sounds like a wonderful story.
(
Julie Duffy 1:36pm November 26, 2014)
