Dylan does sound like a great character and the book sounds great. I do enjoy an Irish accent, I don't know why but it is very lyrical although I don't always understand what they are saying. (Maureen Emmons 6:14pm March 27, 2012)
I like the slight lift to their words and the softness of their voice. Just different from what I'm used to and the soft drawl pulls me right in. I like the storyline of your book and would enjoy reading it. I'm sure it will be a big hit! (Rosemary Simm 6:17pm March 27, 2012)
There was a friend of mine whose parents sent him to Ireland for a year of boarding school. When he returned, he had the deep brogue, and was so polite!! Because we were about 11 or 12 at the time, he was a bit embarassed at the time, but I found it to be fascinating and different. At times it was a bit hard to understand, but I could have talked to him for hours!! He was so fortunate to be able to get that type of education. We lost touch over the years, due to the family moving, and I often wondered if he still had the accent or not. (Peggy Roberson 6:36pm March 27, 2012)
That accent just makes my emotions turn to mush. (Roseann Moss 7:13pm March 27, 2012)
This book sounds great! I want to read more! (Cheryl McEwen 7:39pm March 27, 2012)
Love the conversation and it's one I've had before. Celtic people, talk and symbols remind me of a retreat I went on where we made runes from clay and looked at books on celtic knots. I enjoy reading books with characters that have a brogue for their language is uplifting and exotically foreign. (Alyson Widen 8:50pm March 27, 2012)
It makes me melt i lvoe a Celtic accent (Pamela Hansen 8:59pm March 27, 2012)
The speech pattern is lyrical. (Mary C 10:33pm March 27, 2012)
Love the celtic accent, story sounds great. Love to win and read your book. (Linda Hall 11:38pm March 27, 2012)
I think of musical notes when I hear it. (Lisa Kendall 11:40pm March 27, 2012)
Gotta love a man with an accent! (Susan Ashcraft 3:11am March 28, 2012)
I too like the lyrical sound of it, and wouldn't mind dating a guy with it lol (Bella Franco 7:50am March 28, 2012)
Lucky 13, congrats on the release!
A Celtic accent just sounds so bright and as Bella says, lyrical. Actually, I like pretty much any accent, less so Slavic and German, but when used by the right person, even they sound good. (Anne Muller 8:00am March 28, 2012)
There is just something about an irish accent! Thanks for a great giveaway! Cant wait to read this one (Julie Parrish 8:21am March 28, 2012)
Sounds like a great book! Would love to win it. (Susie Kerner 8:23am March 28, 2012)
When I was a very young girl, I used to visit my Grand uncle and love to listen to him talk. Between him (Ted), my Uncle Father Patrick and my nana, I loved it. Now is no different, when I hear the accent,It will catch and hold me still. Now I get to go to my neighbors and listen to them all the time, it's funny every 2 years they go home to visit and when they come back to the USA their accent is always very heavy for a while. John just laughs at me cause while I'm listening, I'm also watching lips ('sigh' I don't know). Thanks (Margie Gagarin 8:55am March 28, 2012)
I love accents in general... :) Always so sexy... (May Pau 8:59am March 28, 2012)
My Mom went to Ireland and loved it...It's been a place I've always wanted to go to since I was a litle girl... so I go to it though books and imagination. HA (Bonnie Capuano 9:02am March 28, 2012)
Sounds like a wonderful romantic suspense read.!! (Stephanie Strausberger 9:39am March 28, 2012)
Sounds like a book that I would love to read with romance, mystery , intrigue. Would love to win and then share with friends. (Audrey Skinner 10:44am March 28, 2012)
Thank you so much for having me on Fresh Fiction. And thank you, everybody, for your comments. It seems to be universal - that everyone loves an Irish accent. I met an author recently who travels to Ireland on a regular basis just to sit and write in a cottage. I think that is so idyllic. But of course, I must have a handsome landscaper and a male housekeeper while I was writing... Research, you know, for that beautiful accent... (Patricia Terrell 11:16am March 28, 2012)
A well inked tattoo on a man is attractive and being that I'm part Irish, a Celtic tattoo, especially on a man that has some Irish in him, is just HAWT!! (Kelli Jo Calvert 11:54am March 28, 2012)
Love books. Love mysteries. Love to win (Anne Derkat 1:08pm March 28, 2012)
I am too atracted to different accents. The portion written above makes it where the reader is there listening to the accent. Wonderful!! Seems like Dylan has a mysterious side. (Theresa Smith 1:44pm March 28, 2012)
Love listening to an Irish brogue...there is just something about it that is so sexy. (Colleen Conklin 1:56pm March 28, 2012)
Accents of any kind just make the person seem exotic and exiting. (Sue Farrell 3:04pm March 28, 2012)
I have a couple of Irish ancestors, so an Irish hero appeals to me. I love to listen to the Irish lilt in movies. (Anna Speed 3:08pm March 28, 2012)
There great looking legs. Love it when I find a new author. Thanks (Kiki Winn 6:53pm March 28, 2012)
There is a sexiness in a man with a Celtic accent, because we hear it less often, it draws us in and we love listening to it which makes him more exciting, appealing and interesting. I've always loved actors with an accent...Sean Connery with his English accent and actors that use the Irish brogue. (Linda Luinstra 7:00pm March 28, 2012)
Darby O'Gill and the Little People/ Sean Connery & his accent entered my heart at age 5. Men with that lilt of voice have intrigued ever since! (Susan Jeffers 7:28pm March 28, 2012)
woo hoo - accents have always intrigued me, and one of the first thing that attracts me to a guy is his voice - a Celtic accent is definitely beautiful. :-) (Felicia Ciaudelli 7:51pm March 28, 2012)
sounds like a great book!! (Jennifer Beck 7:57pm March 28, 2012)
A Celtic accent. I'm not sure I can differentiate accents that much but I get all melty when a man has a great accent. (Jennifer Beyer 8:35pm March 28, 2012)
What is it not? Good gravy, love those accents. It's very melodic even if I can't always understand it but people tell me the same thing! Your book sounds good... (Ivy Truitt 8:47pm March 28, 2012)
Personally, I married a boy of Scottish decent. I love listening to his father talk with his Scottish accent. (Mary Hay 8:57pm March 28, 2012)
I just love listening to Liam Neeson. That rich deep voice and Irish brogue is so sexy! (Molly Wilsbacher 9:16pm March 28, 2012)
I just love listening to accents. It makes you have to listen more closely. Plus it makes me just a little bit giddy. (Patti Paonessa 10:25pm March 28, 2012)
A Celtic accent just resonates. It sounds sexy. They could read off a grocery list & I'd fall for them. (Mary Preston 10:39pm March 28, 2012)
Having traveled to the amazing Emerald Isle, year ago. I fell in love with all things Irish. Hey, even kissed the Barney Stone. The people are so friendly and charming. Their accent was so wonderful to listen to. I will always cherish spending my 21st Birthday in a loud and wild Irish Pub. WTG on your writing skills. Sounds like my kind of book, maybe I will have the "luck of the Irish" and snag a welcomed copy. (Dayle Butler 11:20pm March 28, 2012)
It's the lilt in the voice that calls to me! The hint of laughter that can be heard even when the discussion is most serious. (Patricia Cochran 11:38pm March 28, 2012)
I guess I've always been interested in different nationalities and countries. After all, I'm an immigrant and grew up with my mother's stories of Scotland, France and our native German (that included my father). Actually, our whole family has always enjoyed travelling. I've been to Ireland, though I mostly spent with university friends living there. But I did get into Dublin on my own and the Celtic accent was a big part of that day. I just find it somehow charming and different, though it really doesn't sound as good on paper. But it may be easier to figure out what is being "said." (Sigrun Schulz 1:37am March 29, 2012)
I am loving hearing all the ways in which you love the Irish accent and why! It definitely leaves an imprint on us, doesn't it? Makes me want to pick up and move to the Emerald Isle... Thank you, everybody, for commenting! (Patricia Terrell 10:57am March 29, 2012)
