in pulling off elaborate scams; and has an outrageous
reputation with the ladies. But there is only one woman for
him: fellow privateer Josie-seductive, brave and
unpredictable. He's hoping to make their relationship
permanent, until he raids the wrong ship. Now slavers are
stalking him, his crew is verging on mutiny and Josie has
disappeared. When she reappears with a new mark wanting Van Gast's help
running the ten ruby trick con, he senses trouble. It seems
like Josie has joined up with mage-bound slavers to turn

and betrayal.

Re: Ten Ruby Trick
I don't know that they were rogues, but the fellow in the Jennifer Aniston movie where she is picked up by her ex husband bounty hunter. Can't remember the name of the actor but he was definately what I would think of as a rogue! (Brenda Rupp 10:13am January 20, 2011)
I know he's not a rogue, but there's something about Robert Downey's eyes and his smile!! You already mentioned Johnny Depp, who is one of my favorites. As for books, I got a big kick out of the Janet Evanovich series, if you want some lighthearted reading. (Peggy Roberson 10:50am January 20, 2011)
Ah yes, Robert Downey Junior. His Tony Stark is a rather loveable naughty chap.
I shall have to look out for that film Brenda. (Julia Knight 11:14am January 20, 2011)
Gotta love those bad boys! Always have - always will! (Kelli Jo Calvert 12:01pm January 20, 2011)
My favorite rogue has been mentioned. Johnny Depp makes a lovable rogue. (Mary Preston 2:22pm January 20, 2011)
Eve's Roarke in the In Death books is my favorite rogue. (Lisa Richards 2:36pm January 20, 2011)
I have Oprah in Australia on & she has Russell Crowe with her - he's a Rogue - loved him in his new Robin Hood movie. Tomorrow she has Hugh Jackman on, he plays great Rogues, but he seems a great family man in real life - is that still a Rogue? (Diane Sallans 4:34pm January 20, 2011)
Hmm Russell Crowe or Huh Jackman..Gladiator or Wolverine...that's a tough choice... (Julia Knight 7:20pm January 20, 2011)
I "discovered" Richard Sharpe last year and have read all the books. I would vote for him as a favorite rogue. (Carol Drummond 8:28pm January 20, 2011)
@Brenda Rupp -- Dahling, Every Woman should know who the Beautiful Man is....drumroll please...the one, the only, Mr. Gorgeous himself, Gerard Butler!
I just love Mal Reynolds! Have FIREFLY and SERENITY on DVD.
Which reminds me of another swoon worthy sci-fi rogue: John Crichton (aka Ben Browder), FARSCAPE. RAWR! (Cynthia Netherton 10:14pm January 20, 2011)
@Carol - oh the only way they could(and did) make Sharpe better is by getting Sean Bean to play him!
@Cynthia - I have quite the crush on Mal - A rogue with morals. The fact he's hopelessly in love and doesn't know what to do about it is part of the charm too. (Julia Knight 5:45am January 21, 2011)
George Clooney is one of my favs, because he always gets a crowd on board with his plans like the movie Oceans 11 and Up In The Air which is about firing people. (Alyson Widen 11:37am January 26, 2011)
