Simon Kent is just an ordinary 12-year-old trying to cope
with the loss of his parents and the bullies at
school . . . or so he thinks. After meeting an outspoken
girl with strange hair that changes colors with her mood,
he is swept into a futuristic world filled with dragonlike
creatures, vast technology, and enslaved giants.
But Simon also stumbles upon a secret: He can perform magic
in this parallel world! While fighting mystical creatures,
unraveling an ancient mystery, and even experiencing his
first kiss, Simon discovers that he, an outsider from
Earth, is the only person who can save the high-tech planet
from an impending doom.

It is awesome the way you have bounced back time and time again. Best of luck with the Voice of America show. (Karin Tillotson 2:43pm December 21, 2009)
My dad was a fireman and I know how you feel about your life up in flames. I love reading about interview and the preparation beforehand so you can ask intelligent questions and also the ones no one else will ask, but people want to know anyways. (Alyson Widen 2:58pm December 21, 2009)
I'm a regular reader of your newsletter, so I know of the fire you talk about. I was always very impressed with the way you and your family handled that situation. (LuAnn Morgan 3:27pm December 21, 2009)
Thanks for putting the website up. I'll check it out. (Leni Kaye 4:08pm December 21, 2009)
The book looks amazing. My mother lived through a fire as a child & is still troubled by it. So best wishes. (Mary Preston 5:09pm December 21, 2009)

Paraworld Zero sounds great, I'll check it out. Happy Holidays. [email protected] (Penny Tuttle 7:49pm December 21, 2009)
Fantasy fiction is a great read and a fun way to leave our world behind. Have a great holiday and an even better new year! (Rosemary Krejsa 8:34pm December 21, 2009)
I hope this holiday season is an opportunity for you and your family to heal. As a survivor of Ike; I was deeply disturbed by what a lifechanging event such things turn out to be. There is literally no way for anyone else to even comprehend such shocks. At least with a hurricane, we had some advance warning; there are no warnings or predictions that can prepare anyone for the devastation of a house fire. I was grateful to read that your family was safe. When you can get back to writing again, know that your loyal readers are waiting. (Susan Driskill 9:32pm December 21, 2009)
I nearly lost my home to fire about 10 years ago and even though it didn't burn down, the smoke damage had us living with family for 3 months until all was replaced. I hope you get your home back soon and wish you the best of luck with your writing. Looking forward to reading your novel.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!! (Mitzi Hinkey 12:25pm December 22, 2009)
Book sound interesting. Will give it a try. (Kai Wong 2:25am December 22, 2009)
Hope this is a time for healing for you. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! (Joanne Reynolds 6:23am December 22, 2009)
Thanks everyone. It's been almost 6 months since the fire and we're still fighting the insurance company. Since it'll take 6 months to repair the house, we're looking at at least 1 year in a rental home. At least we're all safe. Happy holidays everyone and I hope you enjoy my radio show and book!
