In The Game Makers, industry expert Phil Orbanes reveals how, by adhering to the principles of its founder, Parker Brothers rose to prominence, overcame obstacles, and forged lasting success. Orbanes, a game historian and former executive at Parker Brothers, draws from company archives, interviews with surviving family members, and the newly discovered records of founder George Parker to tell a story rich in examples of business acumen that spans world wars, family tragedy, the Great Depression, and global competition. Pairing Parker's enduring business lessons with little-known historical anecdotes, Orbanes reveals the often whimsical origin of classic games-Tiddledy Winks, Monopoly, Nerf, Sorry!, the modern jigsaw puzzle, and more-and how Parker Brothers turned them into cultural icons.

Re: The Game Makers:

On the spot and the "Adventure Mode", and it is much more extensive
than the main narrative and is available from the very beginning. In it,
you need to explore a large map, each cell of which is a separate
mission with a special task and also stores a special trophy.
Assignments differ little from what is present in the plot. Are allocated
unless those battles where it is necessary to strike a certain number of
monsters for the allotted time. The size of the card is simply huge, to
get the most treasured treasures, it is necessary to pass fights for the
best estimate, so count not for a dozen or two hours, but for a few tens
or even a hundred.

It is important that Adventure Mode is embedded in the main outline of
the game. After all, the things we got here - weapons, materials for
badges and vital energy - we use in Legend Mode. In fact, this is a
great training field, allowing you to prepare for a difficult battle, if you
do not want to reduce the complexity. There are special mechanics, for
example, enemy barriers that take away health, as well as a novelty for
the 3DS version - fairies.
