Mary McMyne
Mary McMyne’s debut novel, The Book of Gothel (2022), is the story of the medieval midwife and storyteller who would become known as the witch from Rapunzel. Her second novel, Mistress (2024), will be the story of Shakespeare’s Dark Lady from her own perspective. Her poetry chapbook, Wolf Skin (2014), won the Elgin Chapbook Award. Her stories and poems have appeared in venues like Strange Horizons, Gulf Coast, Redivider, and Apex Magazine. She has won the Faulkner-Wisdom Prize for a Novel-in-Progress and a grant from the Sustainable Arts Foundation to research The Book of Gothel in Germany, among other honors. A graduate of the NYU MFA program, she lives in Atlanta.
