After her husband divorces her, all Ellie Johnston wants to
do is sit and cry. And perhaps eat an entire cake. However,
she's a queen. At least, that's what her neighbors say. By
moving into in the house that bears the mark of the Queen
of Hearts, Ellie's become one of the Queens of Woodlawn
Avenue, a bridge group that's actually much more than that.
Ellie learns how to take care of her life throughout the
bridge classes. She begins by starting a new business to
take care of everyday things for her clients. This means
going to the grocery store, being a hostess for parties and
cooking meals for them. It also helps that one of her
clients is a Frenchman who's good-looking and kind. He just
might help Ellie get over her husband. However, it turns
out that Ellie's husband is having trouble getting over her.
This book is full of life and love. It's about being strong
when you fall down and about taking chances. Ellie and her
friends are just the kind of people I'd love to know and
have as friends. A surprising book for women of all ages. I
can't wait to see what this author has next for the Red Hat
Club.
