For all the love of twisted, enthralling, and totally nuclear stories, this one completely blew my mind and left me wiped out in the best way possible!
Kayla’s story was kept hidden for a good portion of the book which had me itching with anticipation to learn what exactly it was. I love it when this happens, especially when written in a way that is subtle and intricately woven into a story such as this.
She had an immediate dislike of Aidan making this an enemies-to-lovers trope that had me sitting up with excitement. The chemistry between them was explosive in every way! This was filled with white-hot scenes that brought in all kinds of activities that will have you salivating. Aidan is one filthy, dirty talker and he’s absolutely the hottest hero I’ve read in a very long time.
This is definitely one of those books that you need to go into as blindly as possible. Other than what I’ve shared above, the rest of the story and how things take a turn should not be revealed until you're reading it or you’ll lose that “Oh My Gawd!” moment(s) that are so worth the secrecy. That being said, I’m ending my review here other than to say it is freaking amazing and as the author has stated, it has a happy ever after, it just looks different but it’s still an authentic HEA.
J.T. Geissinger always surprises me with her novels but they all entertain, bring the spice and have some of the most original content I've ever read as an avid reader. I can not get enough of her characters. PEN PAL was difficult and confusing at times but also extremely intriguing, character building and 100% shocking at the end.
The BookTok sensation PEN PAL is a high-octane, tautly written dark romance with an unforgettable twist that will leave readers gasping. This breathtaking romance about undeniable love from superstar J.T. Geissinger is not to be missed!
The first letter arrived the day my husband was buried. It was postmarked from the state penitentiary, and contained a single sentence: I’ll wait forever if I have to.
It was signed by Dante, a man I didn’t know.
Out of simple curiosity, I wrote back to ask him what exactly he was waiting for. His reply?
You.
I told the mystery man he had the wrong girl. He said he didn’t. I said we’d never met, but he said I was wrong.
We went back and forth, exchanging letters every week that grew increasingly more intimate. Then one day, the letters stopped. When I found out why, it was already too late.
Dante was at my doorstep.
And nothing on earth could have prepared me for what happened next.
