Thriller

THE SILENT WIFE is another intriguing story in The Will Trent Series by Karin Slaughter.  This series takes place in the state of Georgia where the GBI agents investigate various homicide cases alongside the local medical examiner.  The agent in this series is dyslexic and has learned skills to help him compensate and find ways to help him function at doing his job.  He had a difficult childhood and an even more destructive marriage that has a strong influence on his new relationship and how he copes with dealing with individuals and situations.  It's painful at times watching him try to navigate through his feelings.  THE SILENT WIFE deals with some gruesome murders, serial killers, relationship issues, emotional insecurities that will have everyone on edge.  There are horrendous things that are done to the women in these cases that are too much to imagine or think about.  Karin Slaughter will take you on an emotional journey.

GBI Agent Will Trent always tries to think things through in a methodical manner. He has been in a relationship for a few years with medical examiner Sara Linton.  These latest cases go back eight years earlier when Jeffery Tolliver, the Chief of Police, was handling the case.   Accusations have been made that Jeffery Tolliver and his team were corrupt. Jeffery Tolliver was medical examiner Sara Linton's husband until his death.  This investigation brings into question how Jeffery Tolliver handled the case at that time.  Sara is very emotional reliving the past which will put a strain on her relationship with Will.  Will has always had a problem with expressing his feelings.  This story will go back and forth showing how cases were handled then and now.  There will be flaws and mistakes revealed.  When the serial killer is revealed it will be a shock to all, especially Sara.

Will and Sara will find their way back to each other, after all this chaos, and realize what is most important.

As Will digs into both crimes it becomes clear that he must solve the original case in order to reach the truth. Yet nearly a decade has passedtime for memories to fade, witnesses to vanish, evidence to disappear. And now he needs medical examiner Sara Linton to help him hunt down a ruthless murderer. But when the past and present collide, everything Will values is at stake . . .
