Spencer Hightower, a public relations expert, prides
herself on being efficient and knowing how to get things
done without getting emotionally involved. For her
winning is not a priority but the only option. However,
she is fair and never resorts to dirty politics to win.
She also does not believe in getting into a relationship,
much less a date without researching the man beforehand.
Liam Connelly is an anti-thesis to all her rules.
Liam, a sports agent, is infatuated with Spencer. He
loves her fire, her determination and her
professionalism. What he wants is to get under her skin
and get to know the woman underneath all that cool.
Unfortunately, they are now opponents in a case where
Spencer needs a paternity test of his high-profile
client.
Keeping professional and personal relationship is not
Spencer's style while Liam has no issues in keeping the
two separate. Convincing Spencer is a tough job but the
sizzling attraction in his favour. Liam is successful
till the small case of paternity tests escalates into a
high profile scandal which can ruin both his and his
client's career. Will they be able to overcome the odds
and be together or the case of mistrust is their undoing?
I absolutely adore Liam. He is a charming, very funny guy
playboy who is not afraid to face off with Spencer
despite the possibility of ruining their chances of
getting together, admit his mistakes or share his fears.
No wonder Spencer fell for him. With each interaction we
see a new side to them; see their fears, insecurities and
desires. Liam's pursuit of Spencer is an utter delight. I
was routing for him throughout even when the odds were
against him. Spencer is a hard-ass workaholic who does
not know how to let loose or just lose. Thanks to Liam,
her coming out is an amazing journey. There were times I
did not like her for her stubbornness and feared they
would breakup or the end will be disappointingly forced
HEA. Glad to say I was wrong. What I totally loved about
KNOW WHEN TO HOLD HIM is how both of them refused to
compromise their professional integrity and morals for a
personal relationship.
KNOW WHEN TO HOLD HIM is a journey of two professionals
and how they come into their own learning from each other
along the way. Their battle of wits is an adrenaline
rush. I was on the edge of my seat laughing my head-off
at how they threw each other off track or as Spencer
would say cock-block. The chemistry between the two is
sizzling and when they finally come together; let's just
say it is not a disappointment. They are very similar
but, again as Spencer observes, he is a more patient and
kinder than her. I loved how Ms. Emory took time to
develop the characters rather than focus on just on them
having sex. For those who like steamier, frequent bedroom
scenes, KNOW WHEN TO HOLD HIM is not the right choice but
for a story where romance develops over time with the
characters with some action here and there, this is the
perfect choice.
Spencer Hightower's job is cleaning up other people's
messes.
And she is damn good at it. Unfortunately, being a
supremely
organized workaholic, she doesn’t always easily meet
guys—until Liam Connelly shows up, all high-powered and
really, really sexy.
Sure, he makes Spencer's pulse thump...but he's also the
biggest pain in her professional life.
Liam can't believe his lousy luck when he learns that
Spencer is his opposition in a high-profile scandal.
She’s the best at what she does and the worst possible
opponent. Of course, a little professional animosity can't
hurt a guy's chances for a date, can it? Even as Spencer
tries to keep her distance, their attraction grows
stronger...and hotter.
But once they cross all kinds of professional—and
personal—boundaries, the situation snowballs into a
disaster
that even the great Spencer Hightower can't fix...
