Romance

ON EVERY STREET is the prequel novella to the Artists Trilogy by Karina Halle. Readers can read this novella before or after the first book in the series. It works as a standalone. However, I will say that the order in which you read them may affect which side (or hero) you choose in the series. For example, if you read book one first, you may find that you like Camden McQueen's character. If you read ON EVERY STREET first, you may love Javier more.

Javier is a slick, mysterious enigma. His character holds so much power and intrigue that it's almost scary to witness. Javier is Ellie's mark, the man she hopes to get close to to exact her revenge on his boss. Ellie, later on known as Eden White, tries to pull off a long con, but she never factored in the fact that she would actually fall in love with her mark.

Eden and Javier's romance bloomed wonderfully and realistically despite the fact that it is based on twisted lies. Violent details of the drug cartel offer a glimpse into the dangerous world that Eden has immersed herself in. I am eager to see how well Eden adapts to this new world and more importantly, if she will survive it.

Javier was intriguing, but I was always a bit skeptical of his character. As a member of the drug cartel, there is no question that he is lethal and has had blood on his hands. There were times when he seemed too smooth and too practiced in his seduction to make me fall head over heels for him. It made me question his intentions and wonder if his love was ever true. That being said, readers will discover that there are more lies than meets the eye in this series.

ON EVERY STREET is a unique story of passionate emotion -- love, hate and jealously mix together to make this a story that flames white hot!

SUMMARY

When young con artist Ellie Watt decides to call herself Eden White and go after the drug lord who ruined her as a child, she never expects to fall for one of his henchmen. But Javier Bernal is no ordinary man. Subtly dangerous and overwhelmingly seductive, Eden finds herself passionately in love with Javier, the very person she's set-up to betray. With her body and heart in a heated battle against her deep need for revenge, no one will walk away from this con a winner.
