Dorina Basarab wakes to an unfamiliar setting and a vampire
hovering over her. Her first instinct is to lash out and
attack. Her efforts prove futile. It is only later that she
realizes that the vampire is actually her boy-toy, Louis-
Cesare there to help rescue her. Dory was working for the
Vampire Senate task force at the time for her capture, but
try as she might, she cannot remember what happened to her.
In an effort to find the answers she needs, Dory goes head-
to-head with vampires and fallen angels alike. In the
process, she becomes a "master", gets caught buying twenty
boxes of condoms for the fey, and still manages to kick
some ass!
Karen Chance delivers a stellar addition to the Dorina
Basarab series! The world Chance creates is so easy to
lose
yourself in. With her detailed world building, interesting
politics and tons of humor, Chance has the unique ability
to take readers into her world for a whole new thrill ride
with each book!
Readers will be please to discover that Chance also
explores Dory's relationship with Louis-Cesare in greater
detail. Adding another intricate layer to their
relationship, Chance builds on their witty back-and-forth
to further solidify the fact that Dory and Louis-Cesare are
the perfect pair.
Though Dory and Louis-Cesare are fantastic in this book,
Ray had some amazingly memorable scenes as well. The fact
that Chance has more than one character I care about proves
just how endearing and well-rounded her characters are.
Intensely hilarious dialogue, intriguing and endearing
characters, and pulse-pounding action - This is what I've
come to expect in a Karen Chance novel. The story had me
laughing in stitches and speechless with shock. FURY'S KISS
is easily the best in the series so far.
