Romance Paranormal

Raising her precocious toddler is a full-time job for Rachel Farnsworth because Cassidy is...special. He loves to strip out of his diaper, teleport around the kitchen to the top of the fridge and eat goldfish crackers. Cassidy also loves setting fire to birthday cakes and goldfish crackers... simply by breathing on them. When Rachel discovers her missing husband is actually a demon inhabiting the body of her deceased spouse, she realizes a lot of Cassidy's unique skills are due to his half-demon lineage.

Unfortunately for Rachel and the rest of the inhabitants of Dogwood County, a battle between good and evil is brewing and Cassidy is smack-dab in the middle of it. His demon dad knows the location of the tomb containing fallen angel Azazel. Azazel's lover, Casiphia, wants to free him and sees Cassidy as the key to unlocking her lover's prison. It is only with the help of sexy fallen angel Sam that Rachel might save Cassidy and the rest of Dogwood County from Hell on Earth.

Cara Lockwood's CAN'T TEACH AN OLD DEMON NEW TRICKS is an amusing follow-up to EVERY DEMON HAS HIS DAY. Rachel is likable as a flustered mother willing to do anything to protect her child, and Sam is the perfect reluctant fallen hero willing to give all for the woman he loves. Add in a couple of guardian angels and you have a fun tale of good versus evil with a bit of the absurd added in for good measure. There's never a dull moment when readers visit Dogwood County!

SUMMARY

Get an east Texas girl good and mad,and there’s going to be hell to pay!

Rachel Farnsworth doesn’t believe in the paranormal—she can find plenty of evil forces right in Dogwood County, like the Mega-Mart that’s driving her family’s hardware store into the ground. Then there’s her own little hell-raiser—a rowdy toddler who can turn his birthday candles into a blazing inferno with just one breath. But when her marriage goes up in smoke, Rachel discovers her husband, Kevin, isn’t just a deadbeat, he’s also a demon (a sloth demon, no less, which explains why he never helped around the house) with a renegade bounty hunter—a fallen angel named Sam— chasing down a powerful secret Kevin has kept for a millennium or two. Sam’s downfall was a beautiful mortal woman . . . and now, the heavenly attraction zinging between them has down-to-earth Rachel believing in celestial magic. But will it be enough to save her and her son from the dark forces Kevin has unwittingly unleashed on Dogwood County?
