Deep in the mountains of Britannia, a Druid Priest finds a young Roman woman freezing to death in the snow. Owein brings Clara to his village and reluctantly nurses her back to health. During her recovery, the two find they have a magical connection, but Owein won't allow Clara into his visions, afraid that the darkness inside him will destroy her.

Clara is searching for her mother's jeweled cup, stolen from her home a few months ago. She desperately needs the cup to save her father's life. Owein agrees to help her find the cup knowing he will be rid of her soon.

Their journey takes them to the sacred isle of Avalon where an evil Druidess intends to make Owein her king and destroy the world of the Romans.
