A true Southern woman who knows that any cook worth her gumbo always starts with a roux and who never wears white after Labor Day, Christa Allan writes women's fiction that answers the hard questions. She is the mother of five adult children, a grandmother of three, and a newly retired teacher of high school English. Christa and her veterinarian husband Ken live in New Orleans, Louisiana in a 140-year-old home with lights and fans that turn on by themselves. Keeping them company are their three neurotic cats and their new dog named Herman.
