INN AT LAST CHANCE

Also known as the Jonquil House, the new bed and breakfast in the small town of Last Chance, South Carolina comes with everything you need for a modern take on a gothic novel. It was built near a swamp. It comes with an unhappy ghost. And its former owner, Gabriel Raintree, is your basic tortured hero who also happens to write horror novels.

The story starts when Gabe shows up at the not-yet-open inn in the middle of an ice storm, and demands a room from Jenny Carpenter, the woman who is determined to turn the place into the best bed and breakfast in Allenberg County. Of course the sparks fly. And pretty soon the two of them are haunted, not just by the resident ghost, but by the past. And if INN AT LAST CHANCE bears some resemblance to JANE EYRE it’s only because the Last Chance Book Club just happens to be reading it at the moment.
