I prefer series because I like to get to know the characters and watch how they grow and progress. One of my favorite series is the Gaslight mysteries by Victoria Thompson.

I've never experienced anything stranger than fiction personally, but I love reading other's accounts. This is a very funny one. I am currently reading my way through the Dresden books and this really is quite a coincidence.
