Hi Laura - that's a good point, I think a lot of readers feel that way about books. I remember when I was young I read an amazing book called When Marnie Was There and it had a profound effect on me as a child...it would be different reading it now of course. So, great comment, thanks :)

Hi Karen - ah, Dick Francis...LOVE his books. They were like catnip to this horsey girl. Mystery and heroics and horses rolled into one...perfect. I think that's the beauty of novels...we can live through the character's eyes without actually having to go through the 'hard' things ourselves. Great comment and thanks for stopping by :)
