Re: Wicked At Heart (11:05am July 28, 2012):

Some people get excited over jewelry, chocolates and such. For me it's a good book. Reading your post has me so excited to learn more about your heores. I love an emotional read about dark and vulnerable heroes. I can't wait to read more about yours.. especially Lucian and Damon.

Re: The Marriage Bargain (2:17pm June 15, 2012):

My favorite movies and stories end with hea. There can be alot of emotional angst as long as the Hero and Heroin find happiness in the end. Congratulations on The Marriage Bargain. It sounds like a great read.

Re: Fever (3:07pm January 25, 2012):

Joan, congratulations on your upcoming debut release of Fever. It sounds like a great read and what a HOT cover! Thank you for the lovely and insightful interview.

Re: Sins Of The Highlander (10:43am January 13, 2012):

Congratulations on the release of Sins Of A Highlander! My must have hero trait is honor. He can be a troubled bad boy, but deep down in his soul he must be honorable.

Re: The Viking's Sacrifice (10:13am January 10, 2012):

Thank you for a great post! As a reader, character names can make or break a story for me. I love dark and dangerous heroes and I just can't picture a tough hero with a name like Chuck or Carl.
I have read books where I couldn't pronounce a name and sadly just created a new sound or word to replace the name each time I came across it. So for me names really do make a difference. A couple of names that ring nicely for me would be Frehr, Sindri and Terje.

Re: Bride By Mistake (8:28am January 10, 2012):

I loved the excerpt and can't wait to read Bride By Mistake. I'm partial to dark and broken heroes and a fight for a HEA. This is my kind of romance.

Re: Pretty Persuasion (9:27am January 9, 2012):

A 5 star book for me is one that has the perfect character balance and level of detail that excites me and keeps my interest from page one to the very end and is so well written I can imagine myself a character or spectator in within the story. I may lower the rating I give a book if the subject matter or story jumps around a lot and is confusing/hard to follow. I also take into consideration the amount of what I call "fluff", paragraphs/passages/details that I find boring or unnecessary and skim through or skip over completely.

As a general guideline for me:
5 star would be a book I consider awesome.
4 star would be a really great book.
3 star would be a good book.
2 star would be a chore to finish reading
1 star I wouldn't finish

For me, a book rating is a matter of opinion as not everyone likes the same type of book. Some readers are more into action/less action, love scenes, particular types of heroes/heroins, different settings, plots etc. So reviews can vary based on a number of reasons. That's why I usually don't go by a review when deciding whether or not to buy a book. What I find more helpful and take note of is the "Customers Who Bought This Also Bought" suggestions on book store websites.

Re: The Angel Of Blythe Hall (10:30am December 31, 2011):

I couldn't help but smile while reading your post. What a beautiful gift. I have always been a believer that music is food for the soul and that a simple song can lift ones spirits.

Re: Wedded In Scandal (10:05am December 22, 2011):

Thank you for the wonderful surprise! I can't wait to read it. I usually always carry a paperback with me for those times I get a few extra minutes. However, I sometimes will waste time playing Jewels Star on my phone. It's addicitive. The good/bad part of it is, it's self limiting as it's eats up my battery.

Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Re: Shield of Fire (9:00am December 9, 2011):

What about a small brain teasing puzzle? My son loves these. You can find them made out of wood, metal or a favorite of ours are the clear plastic 3D puzzles found at B&N.

Re: Hunter Of Shadows (9:06am December 2, 2011):

My first Whoa moment occurred when I was reading this really good book. I couldn't put it down and stayed up until 2am to finish reading it. It ended in a cliff hanger. I couldn't order the next book soon enough and it couldn't be delivered fast enough.

Re: The Return Of Black Douglas (8:53am April 1, 2011):

Thank you for the great information. I found it quite interesting and informative. I was under the incorrect assumption that Highlander referred to Scotland. I enjoy the books but don't know alot about the research behind them. As a reader, learning more about the behind the scenes helps to enhance my reading experience. Thank you for the great post. Congratulations on your upcoming release.

Re: Angel's Rest (9:13am March 12, 2011):

Congratulations on your new books and thank you for the visit. This looks like a great series I look forward to checking out.

Re: What I Did For A Duke (2:41pm March 10, 2011):

Congratulations on What I Did For A Duke! I have heard lots of great things about this book and look forward to reading your Pennroyal Green series.

Re: Wicked Seduction (2:43pm March 2, 2011):

Scientist say we only use what? ..one tenth of our brain power. I think you are an extremely creative artist who uses more brain power than the rest of us. I just wish I was psychic and could see your friends too!

Re: Storm Of Reckoning (7:07pm February 19, 2011):

Doranna, Wow! Enjoyed reading your blog.. So much energy and honesty. I look forward to reading Storm of Reckoning. It sounds like a great book.

Re: Beneath The Night Tree (8:28am February 18, 2011):

Nicole, thank you for your wonderful blog. I found it beautiful and quite moving. My first love broke my heart over and over again. Each time taking from my heart a little bit of the love I felt for him until there was nothing left. In the end that is what made it easy to walk away. I love how you put it and agree it prepared me for my final and true love, my husband Joe.

Re: RiverTime (9:15am February 16, 2011):

I love to read. It makes me happy and brings a safe kind of excitement to my life. I believe Escapisim in reading helps keeps the balance in our lives when the stresses seem to be piling up.

The plot in Rivertime sounds intriguing and exciting. I want to hear more about Casey and Jack and look forward to reading it.

Re: Breaking the Rules (11:56am February 12, 2011):

It will be just ice tea for me today. However, in the past I have tried 2 erotic drinks. In a famous bar in New Orleans I was traeted to a "Blow job". To be honest I found nothing special about this drink. And recently while out with friends the female bar tender had us all try "Cum in a hottub" (butterscotch snaps & Bailey's) Boy was my face red when it was given to us, but surprisingly it was very good.

Re: Dangerous Secrets (7:42am February 11, 2011):

I want to hear more about Adam and Izzy's story as this sounds like a great book...and wow, what a great cover!

Re: The Mistress' House (9:58am February 10, 2011):

I would love the opportunity to read one of your Regency romances. As a child I always loved fairy tales. As an adult I have been drawn to regency romances for the same reasons.

Re: Society's Most Disreputable Gentleman (8:18am February 9, 2011):

I do like to read about about the exciting Bad Boys and like to think there is some good in each of them waiting to shine through. I also believe once a Bad Boy finds the Right Woman, he finds inner peace & direction within himself and sheds the Bad Boy persona and in a sense can become tame.

Re: Everyone Loves A Hero (10:46am February 2, 2011):

Thank you for sharing your baseball hero story.. I couldn't help but smile while thinking back to my son's baseball days.
I haven't had my big heroic moment yet. I would like to think that if it ever does come, I will act heroically and honorably. My luck everything would happen so quickly..and I'll be thinking should have, would have & could have afterwards...
Everyone Loves a Hero sounds like a great story I definately don't want to miss.

Re: The Irish Princess (11:10am February 1, 2011):

Thank you for sharing some of your behind the book details with us. I found it quite interesting. Having married a dark Irishman, I have always found Ireland and it's culture facinating. One of the many beautiful places I would like to travel to. Your book, The Irish Princess sounds wonderful and I look forward to reading it.

Re: Burning Darkness (2:14pm January 31, 2011):

I definately couldn't forgive any act of cruelty to another person or animal.

Re: Haunting Jasmine (1:50pm January 30, 2011):

Sounds quite interesting..I'll definately have to check it out.

Re: Immortal Champion (9:52am January 27, 2011):

A good romance can bring some fun, spice, excitement & spontaneity to your life. As my husband would say, "A happy mommy means a happy family". lol.

Re: Eternal Prey (8:36am January 26, 2011):

Wow! It's so nice to have you her and thank you for blogging today. I just received my order of Wicked Pleasure and Wicked Fantasy and can't wait to start reading them. As for heroes, there is just something about a dark and dangerous man and his personal fight with the hero within him. Add a romance and all I can say is ahhh!!

Re: At Hidden Falls (2:23pm January 25, 2011):

I was into reading in my 20's and read mostly murder mystery/suspense. I lost touch with reading when my kids were younger. I have just gone back to it about 4yrs ago and as my husband/kids would say.. with a vengeance. I just love to read and always have a book with me. Now,I find there is nothing better than a good romance..either historical or contemp.

Re: Deadly Heat (5:55pm January 22, 2011):

I prefer a more intense romance so I don't mind if the book swings to the dark side. I also like when wit and humor are added to keep it light.

Re: Wicked Seduction (11:09pm January 11, 2011):

My thoughts went immediately to something my son said one time. I over heard him telling someone one time that when his Mom gets into a good book and he tries to talk to me, all he gets is noises in response.

Re: Against The Wind (6:57pm January 3, 2011):

What great covers! Can't wait to read about Jackson and his brothers!
