Your treats sound delicious! Unfortunately, I'm a stress eater not stress cooker! Cocoa fudge makes me think of the holidays. You know, the kind that you cook and stir constantly on the stove until the consistency is just right, otherwise it will be too hard or too soft. I haven't made it for years because mine was always too...
As the old saying goes: Truth is stranger than fiction! I'd like to know what's really going on in Afghanistan. It's so interesting that real life events mimicked your writing!
One of my favorite events is called "Train Days". For a couple of weekends every fall, Amtrak runs a special train so that the passengers can enjoy the fall foliage in the mountains and valleys of West Virginia. The train stops for 2 or 3 hours in my hometown of Hinton. So, the city closes off our main street for a couple of blocks and vendors come from all over the state and surrounding states to sell everything from cotton candy to local wine. It's a time to wander around, eating as you walk, examine the wares and reunite with friends you haven't seen since the last "Train Days". Thank you so much for the generous contest and I'll certainly pass along the information about the I Love Dogs Jewelry. And thank you for all the great recipes, they're almost enough to make me want to cook!
