Re: Nickeled-And-Dimed To Death (4:59pm March 23, 2013):

I never mind when an author does a new series. A favorite writer can't write too many books in my opinion. Your book sounds like such fun. Thank you for the drawing.

Re: The Survivor (8:12am March 8, 2013):

Have a burgler alarm on your house if you can, and keep it on even during the day along with keeping the doors locked at all times. Paying attention to the people around you is vital. I was walking in a parking lot watching the ground for potholes when out of the corner of my eye I saw a man alter his direction to come right at me. There was no good reason to come in that direction. I looked directly at him and he was too close to me for comfort. When I looked at him, he turned and left the lot. He thought I was distracted and was going to steal my handbag. At least, that's what I think. Now, I am careful about the surface on which I am walking, but still not looking as if I am not paying attention to people around me. The Dallas police once said to not park by a van that had no windows in the
back or sides since there had been several cases of females
kidnapped by guys in a van next to their car. They also
recommended if you come out and there is a van parked next
to you, get in on the other side of the car. Lock the door
and leave immediately.

Re: Holiday in Crimson (9:47am November 24, 2012):

Christmas is always a joy because we have family around. This year, we have our first great grandchild. Next year will be even better with him because he is only 4 months old now.

The Ottomon Sepulcher

Re: A Light On The Veranda (1:58pm March 30, 2012):

I definitely think the setting is a "character" because
that shapes and changes us thru our lifetime. Books that take place somewhere I have been (like New Orleans) add another level to the enjoyment, as long as they are accurate.

Your book sounds like a good read. Thank you for having the drawing.

Re: Far from Here (8:59am February 6, 2012):

I never thought of myself as having any artistic ability. But I sew and when I make baby clothes some of them are works of art. Heirloom style bonnets are my favorites. Now if I could just learn to smock well!

Re: Fever (9:53am January 26, 2012):

Having tried various methods of goal setting without much success, I decided to try to keep whatever it is for one day at a time. That is working better than the other ways for me. Any little success is good for me so I don't beat up on myself.

Thanks for having the drawing.

Re: Falling For The Fireman (9:48am January 26, 2012):

I would like more books about firemen because they go into danger when everyone else is getting out. The job is hard and it takes a special man or woman to do it.

Re: Scrumptious (3:20pm January 16, 2012):

Chefs and a romantic mystery! Sounds like a winner to
me. Thanks for having the contest.

Re: A Promise Of Safekeeping (5:39pm January 1, 2012):

I keep jewelry that I have had for years and don't wear.
And I keep clothes that don't fit because one year I
might actually lose weight and get back into them. And
most of all, I keep projects I have downloaded from the
Internet. There is no way I can live long enough to make
all of them, but I can't bring myself to throw any of them
away.

Re: Roommates (11:34am October 4, 2011):

Joe is my favorite hero because that is my husband's(of
nearly 55 years)name and he definitely is my hero.Other
heroic names to me are Eric,Alexander & Christopher. I've
forgotten the particular author, but I read of one who
goes to cemeterys to look for character names.

In adition to the mystery shows previously mentioned, I
watch Blue Bloods.

Re: Diaries Of An Urban Panther (1:03pm September 3, 2011):

Due to both knees being replaced, running isn't something
I could do. I remember a woman who saved her husband from
a bear when she swung her purse at it's nose. The nose on
an animal is supposed to be vulnerable, so I would try that
as well as screaming while looking for something I could throw at him. If it were a person, I would probably faint!

Re: Everyone Loves A Hero (12:32pm February 2, 2011):

I did have my moment and was a complete failure. At a
store parking lot a mother was really screaming at her
kid. It was something that made me think I needed to say
something for that child. But, being in a state with
legally conceled guns, I was cowardly and said nothing.
Had she hit her, I would have said something. People
here have been shot for someone thinking they were
disrespected, so I failed out of fear. Should the chance
come again, I think I will do better.

Re: Mackenzie's Legacy (9:10am July 29, 2009):

Any book that grabbed me is
one I wish the characters continue on indefinitely. And
sometimes the secondary characters are just as interesting. I, too, wonder
about JD Robb's Eve Dallas & Roark & his butler. I would
love to know more about the butler. And in Jan Karon's
Father Tim books, I wonder about the boy the priest adopted. He is written about a lot, but I would like to see
some books where he is the main character. Someone mentioned Elysweth Thane, her
families would be great to read more about. Do writers
ever continue writing about
the same people just because
the readers requested it so much?

Re: Seeing Red (9:01am July 29, 2009):

I never lived in a small town.
Most of my life was lived in
Dallas or it's suburb of Mesquite. And for a year & a half, we lived in Houston. The older I get, the more I
wonder if we didn't miss something by living in the big
city. Now the area where I grew up in Dallas has changed
a lot. People tear down the
small houses & build huge houses on the same small lots. The area lost it's charm. Very strange looking.
The traffic is terrible. As I
drive thru small towns, I wonder if they can be as nice
& peaceful as they look.
