One magic place in time, Paris, brings Josephine Ferrell
and William Hayes together for an unforgettable summer. But
it isn't meant to last.
Eighteen years later, Dr. William Hays is on staff at
Keystone Mental Institute and encounters Michelle Andrews,
a psychiatric patient at the institute. Deep in his heart,
William is sure that Michelle is Josephine Ferrell. He's
unable to convince hospital staff at Keystone that a case
of mistaken identity has occurred. William decides to
kidnap Michelle and take her to a secluded place in the
mountains. While he's nursing Michelle back to health, she
dreams of a man in her past who had deep blue eyes and was
the love of her life.
Williams returns to work at Keystone Institute and learns
that Michelle has an identical twin sister, Josephine. He
then starts to doubt if his instincts are correct and hopes
that he hasn't taken a schizophrenic patient from the
hospital. In the meantime, a killer is walking the halls of
Keystone Institute.
Detective Ming Delaney and her partner, Tyrese, have been
called in to investigate the disappearance of Michelle and
the murder of Dr. Meredith Bancroft. The murder occurred
around the same time that Michelle disappeared. Det.
Delaney and her partner have their hands full as they try
to find out what happened to Michelle. The staff at
Keystone Institute is being murdered one by one. While
William and Michelle rekindle their love for each other, a
deadly game of cat and mouse ensues between the two
sisters.
The questions are: which sister is which, who will win and
is William really with the love of his life or not? DEADLY
DOUBLE is a well-told story of good twin versus bad twin.
One of them wants it all, no matter the cost. I found this
to be an easy, enjoyable read.
Instead of lounging in the luxury of her Atlanta home,
Josie opens her eyes to find herself in a mental hospital
with no memory of how she got there. Why won't they let her
leave? Why do they think she's dangerous? And why does
everyone insist on calling her "Michelle"?
Only one man believes that the beautiful imprisoned patient
is Josephine Ferrell -- a doctor, William Hayes, who's
willing to risk his career and his safety to help her
escape. Spiriting the frightened young woman to a temporary
sanctuary, they join forces in a desperate hunt for
answers, keeping one step ahead of an intensive police
manhunt for a missing patient they believe is a cold-
blooded murderer.
