Annie Reed knows that something is wrong with her marriage.
With their only child grown and living in the United
States, far from her parents in Paris, and her husband's
loss of his job, she can't seem to find her balance. Wesley
is clearly frustrated with his business prospects and
taking a terrible hit in his self esteem. Not to mention,
he, and every other male in sight, is entirely too
interested in the new woman at the local dinner party.
As you follow this couple through their Parisian lifestyle,
it's very difficult to stay interested in this story. I'm
probably geared to more action-oriented writing, but even
so, I didn't find the storyline here compelling. It was
interesting to read about life in Paris, but beyond that, I
didn't enjoy this book.
