After a six-year break, following the Red Station fiasco, Harry Tate reemerges in Adrian Magson’s newest spy thriller TERMINAL BLACK. Upon being terminated from MI5 duty, Harry begins enjoying life working in private security. His former partner, Rik Ferris, is also out of Britain’s Secret Service game and free-lancing in the area of digital technology. Harry is approached by British Intelligence to locate Rik and bring him in. It appears Rik has some information gleaned from MI6 archive files that someone does not want made public. Harry sets out to find Rik, but he quickly learns he’s not the only one tracking him.
A skilled watcher himself, Harry must be diligent in covering his tracks. Those tracks take him to Belarus, where he is spotted in the airport by another member of the Red Station team, Clare Jardine. Clare is living and working in Belarus and spotted Rik when he entered the country a few days earlier. She sensed that Harry would be close behind him. Together they set out to find Rik and soon find themselves dodging bullets in a rather shady section of Minsk. Can Harry get to Rik before the others who are tracking him, and before the Russians extract the information they want from Rik and set off a cyber fiasco in the UK?
Adrian Magson is one of my favorite authors and this new installment from his Harry Tate Thriller series does not disappoint. TERMINAL BLACK is a fast-paced, exciting thriller with a very current and relative plot about Russian – American political dealings and cyber-attacks. Mr. Magson gives us a plethora of players in this dynamic spy novel, and oh what a tangled web they do weave. He gradually introduces each character and works them methodically into his storyline. There is much tension as we learn each person’s motives and the games they are playing to save their own skin. TERMINAL BLACK is filled with unique twists and turns, with an engaging and well- crafted plot. Grab a copy … you won’t be disappointed!
Former MI5 agent Harry Tate is drawn back into the field when an old friend goes missing – and discovers the stakes could not be higher.
Harry Tate has one rule: you don’t abandon your friends. When he learns that former colleague Rik Ferris has had a breakdown and disappeared, allegedly in possession of highly sensitive secrets from MI6’s archives, he agrees to look for him and, if possible, bring him back in. But where to begin? Rik could be anywhere in the world.
All Harry knows is, if he doesn’t find Rik, others will be sent out instead. And they won’t play by the same rules.
What Harry doesn’t know is that Rik is being held prisoner and tortured for information relating to a high-level mole in the British establishment. If he doesn’t tell his captors what he knows, it will result in a devastating cyber attack designed to bring the UK to its knees.
