Rock Jepsom wants to keep out of the Hollywood eyes and live his simple life, but his brother, who owns a very small percentage of the family home, drags movie people in without his permission and he is not happy. Deborah Bane has a part in the movie and this might be her last chance, but one look at the rugged cowboy has her thoughts turning to something more akin to spending some HOT ALASKA NIGHTS with said cowboy. Will Rock stick to his guns and send everyone packing or will he let what he is starting to feel for Deborah change his mind?
The chemistry between Rock and Deborah cannot be denied and author Lucy Monroe makes the pages burn while adding the steamy moments into a really good, interesting plot. At first it looked like Rock was sure Deborah was sent to sell him on the idea of making the movie there in anyway she can. After getting to know her, he begins to believe what they both feel is real. Deborah had her own problems, as her family did not support the career choices she made and in truth, she loved acting but dislikes the politics and underhanded maneuvering that goes on in that world.
The author's really descriptive writing style has readers feeling as if they are really seeing Alaska through the eyes of the people in HOT ALASKA NIGHTS. Ms. Monroe also gives readers a bit of an eyeopener on the sometimes less than savory side of movie-making. The characters, on the whole, are believable even if you found a few that are less than likable, though Deborah, Rock and his brother and sister are very interesting as we get to know them and what makes them tick. Learning about his parents helps to understand his distrust of the Hollywood world. Sorry you have to read HOT ALASKA NIGHTS to learn about them.
Ms. Monroe's continuation of her Northern Fire series was a long time coming, but it is well worth the wait. HOT ALASKA NIGHTS is an amazing, fast paced, well-written book with a hero and heroine that were perfectly in sync, despite a couple of bumps in the road that only make it more stimulating for the readers. A great read that will warm up any cold night.
The days may be cold, but the nights are red hot in USA Today bestselling author Lucy Monroe’s new Northern Fire contemporary romance series.
Deborah Banes gave up her family for her dreams and when the role of a lifetime requires a location shoot in Cailkirn, Alaska, she know she can weather the freezing cold temperatures. It’s the heat she feels when she sets eyes on the tall, rugged, and impossibly stubborn Rock Jepsom that has her worried.
Rock doesn’t live by anyone’s rules but his own. He’s given everything he has to make his land and his hometown something he can be proud of, and he’ll be damned if he’s going to give it all up to bright lights and big stars. Not even Deborah Banes’ mega-watt smile can convince him to change his mind. But as the sparks between them intensify, Rock realizes that the fire they’re feeling could be more than the smoke and mirrors of Hollywood . . . it could be the real thing.
