Justice is a woman driven. She woke up 10 years ago with no
memory and since then she has roamed the country going where
the "fates" (a voice she hears and has dubbed thus) compel.
It is only been since meeting Ronan that she feels less
alone, but can she trust this new BLOOD BOND.
Ronan, is a Sanguinar (vampire) and his people are dying.
They depend on the magical blood left behind by an ancient
race and it is slowly dwindling away. When Justice saved his
life he craved her blood only. It is her face in his dreams.
It is she that he feels for. Will this war destroy any
chance he has to find happiness with this mystery woman?
I have been away from author Shannon K. Butchers' Sentinel
Wars series for a while, but BLOOD BOND drew me
right back
into this amazing world almost as if I hadn't missed any of
the previous books. Justice and Ronan are an intriguing
couple, she has no idea who she is or why she is being sent
by the voice in her head on so many dangerous missions. I
cannot imagine not having any kind of memory or being
compelled to do things I don't understand, but that has been
Justice's life for 10 years. Ronan is determined to free
her, but he might just have personal reasons for wanting
her free. He is hoping she will choose him of her own free
will. They make an amazing off the charts couple and when
answers finally come to Justice, she is free to follow her
heart. And, of course, Ronan is that heart's desire.
The fates, the war, and life certainly do draw them back
together no matter how much roaming she does. Early in the
book, we have a shot up Justice who has rescued a little
girl, in danger of dying and it is Ronan who pulls himself
out of the lethargy of the day (vampire + daylight = not a
good thing) to rescue her. Did I mention that he is a
magical healer? He can take the blood he needs to survive
and turn it into a magical ability to heal. This certainly
is something that comes in great when there is a war on.
If you are looking for a different kind of vampire (with the
help of humans and Slayers) vs. demons story line, with a
sexy vampire healer, a woman on the run but not knowing why,
intrigue, heart-pounding action and a sweet and steamy
romance -- then get your hands on BLOOD BOND.
Justice has never known freedom. She woke up ten years ago,
naked and alone with no memory of who or what she was. Since
then, she’s been a prisoner, compelled by powers she doesn’t
understand. She’s roamed the country, doing whatever the
fates demanded of her, good or bad. Completely alone.
Until now.
Ronan is starving to death. Like all the Sanguinar, his
survival depends on finding the dwindling traces of blood
left behind by an ancient, magical race. Weeks ago, Justice
saved his life and since then, it’s been her blood he
craves, her face he dreams about.
As evil closes in on all sides, threatening the only
stronghold the Sentinels have to protect them, Ronan must
find a way to gain Justice’s trust and free her from the
dark powers that control her. Because if he can’t, the next
person she is compelled to kill may be him.
