NO PLACE LIKE YOU is a reunion romance that is sweet and funny. It is set in the world of music and musicians on Cloud Bay, a scenic village on Lansing Island off the California coast. We meet the family of mega rock star Grey Harper, and leader of the uber-successful group BLACKLIGHT. He created the CloudFest musical festival, and after his death his family continued it and kept his studios busy and productive. His only son, Zack, has returned to Cloud Bay after his band disbanded for a year while the leader/vocalist decided to take a year off to "find himself." Zack has decided to write and sing his songs preparing for a solo career. He left years ago and was becoming a rock star on his own, but left his family and never contacted them for years. It's time to grovel and reunite with his sisters and step mother. Time to get back in the good graces of these loving ladies, his family.

Leah Santelli, an islander, is the daughter of a successful sound engineer and wants to become a music producer. That wish just may come true as word is out that Zack has returned home to work on his first album and is looking for a producer. Leah has had a crush on Zack since childhood and on her 18th birthday she asked Zack to spend a night with her in sexual bliss. He accepted, enjoyed it, and left without even saying goodbye. Married and divorced, Leah still has deep feelings about Zack and hopes they can work together making beautiful music. Leah knows she can be a great producer for Zack and make her mark in the business. She has to tone down her raging hormones!

Their reunion was tense especially when Zack refused her help in producing his solo album. He has feelers out for two well known producers. However after hearing from one that did not provide what he was looking for and the other refused flatly to work with him, he accepted Leah's offer. Working together produced musical delights, but the blazing chemistry between them became overwhelming. Leah proposed a "friends with benefits" relationship that brings them closer but Leah knows as soon as the album is finished so are they. Leah will take all the sex she can with HOT Zack but will not fall in love with him.

NO PLACE LIKE YOU feels good and Zack and Leah will steal your heart as they struggle to find what is really important to them. Can they be together in the world of music they both love? My favorite part of the book is when Zack realizes he wants Leah to be with him. He tells her, "Make a life with me, Leah. Make music, memories, and mistakes with me. Figure it out with me. Don't make me go away again." I look forward to the sequel which I hope will show they make it together or not? A lovely read about second chances, family, music and love, and the doughnuts were mouth watering!

SUMMARY

Home—in the island village of Cloud Bay—is where the heart is. . .

Leah Santelli always knew that Zach Harper, son of a rock legend and her best friend’s brother, was painfully out of reach. Then, on the night of her eighteenth birthday, Leah shocked herself by asking for—and receiving—the gift she wanted: one night of passion with Zach before he left town to pursue his rock star dreams. Now, years later, Zach is back in Cloud Bay to record his first solo album. His return could also be Leah’s big chance to step up her own music career. But getting the producing credit she needs means spending long hours with Zach in the recording studio…and falling back into the habit of longing for him, for better or worse.

Zach used to believe that a man must put his past behind him. But coming back home for Cloud Bay’s famed music festival has allowed him to finally make amends with his family and, much to his surprise, reunite with Leah. He might have left her once but now it seems he can’t stay away. Trouble is, even though the heat between them burns hotter than ever, Leah has old wounds in need of healing before she can give Zach a real chance. Can he find a way to convince her that they can make more than just great music together—and that she’s the one that he wants for all time?
