SUN WARRIOR by P.C. Cast is the
second book in The Tales of a New World Book Series. This book picks
up right where the first book, Moon Chosen, left off. The Earth Walkers,
the companions, and the Skin Stealers have all went through major
changes in different ways. I feel that this book cannot be read as a
standalone because the first book sets so much of the setting and tone
for the whole book series.
In this book, Mari is learning more about her abilities and is becoming
stronger. She is more confident and even stands up for herself against
oppositions. She is the Moon Woman and the Healer. While Nik is still in
emotional pain and grieving. He has a growing bond with Mari and Laru
that continues to grow stronger. His tribe is in complete disarray with
no hope of change. This book starts at a good pace and is a fast read
that is full of drama and action. You will find that it is a compulsive
page-turner. There is so much going on in this novel you will not want
to put it down. The characters are evolving but still growing in their own
way.
I found that SUN WARRIOR is full of more suspense, death, and
destruction than the first book. This book will take you on a roller
coaster ride full of emotions and drama. P.C. Cast is a remarkable writer
who has proven time and time again that she has what it takes to
create a truly amazing read. It seems to be progressing at a great pace
and in the right direction with the hope of promise for more exciting
events. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this novel. I feel this would be a
great read for anyone who loves a good fantasy paranormal romance
novel.
#1 New York Times bestselling author of the House of
Night series, P.C. Cast, brings us an epic fantasy set in
a world where humans, their animal allies, and the earth
itself has been drastically changed. A world filled with
beauty and danger and cruelty…
The battle lines have been drawn and Mari, an Earth
Walker and Nik, a Companion, who were once from rival
clans now find themselves fighting to save each other and
their people from destruction.
Thaddeus betrayed his own people, killing Nik’s father
and destroying their entire clan. But he wants more. He
wants the power he believes Mari has stolen from him and
his people and he will do anything he must to get them
back, even if it means destroying everything in his path.
There is only way to stop Thaddeus, but it means a
harrowing journey for Mari and Nik into the heart of
darkness. Meanwhile, Dead Eye becomes a willing vessel
for the newly awakened god, Death. Death has plans of his
own and he, too, will use whatever and whomever he must,
including the mad Thaddeus.
