After the death of her father, Emily Mundy travels back
to Mundy's Landing to trace her heritage. Emily knows
little about her father's relatives as her father didn't
tell her much about them. Emily doesn't want anyone to
know where she is. New York Detective Sullivan Leary has just solved a big
crime with big rewards. Sullivan also has a new job
in Mundy's Landing. It seems like a quiet little town, where
everyone is related, until strange
things start happening. Way back in 1666, The Mundy family was
starving. To help the family out, the parents of
Jerimiah Mundy resorted to desperate measures. They were
caught and put to death. Jerimiah
was left to take care of his two younger sisters. Aurora Abrams is the town's historian. Aurora has a
skull in her house that she needs to have someone examine,
certain it has something to do with the town's
history. BONE WHITE is your classic thriller. Wendy Corsi Staub
writes a great mystery. I was immediately taken in with
this story line. The story does go from present to
past, but it's not confusing at all. In today's world, it
seems that everyone wants to know their heritage. I would compare Staub's writing to James
Patterson or Mary Higgins Clark. These are three writers
that I try to read all the time. I also liked how she
describes the small town of Mundy's Landing. Almost
the whole town is related, but new people are welcomed
with open arms. If you like thrillers and mysteries, here's the book for you.
SUMMARY
New York Times Bestselling Author Wendy
Corsi Staub revisits Mundy’s Landing—a small town with a
blood-soaked past. The town of Mundy’s Landing was founded on a
horrifying secret, but stark white bones of the dead never
lie… “We shall never tell.” Spurred by the cryptic phrase in a
centuries-old letter, Emerson Mundy travels to her ancestral
hometown to trace her past. In Mundy’s Landing, she connects
with long lost relatives—and a closet full of skeletons
going back centuries. In the year since former NYPD Detective Sullivan Leary
solved the historic Sleeping Beauty Murders, she—like the
village itself—has made a fresh start. But someone has
unearthed blood-drenched secrets in a disembodied skull, and
is hacking away at the Mundy family tree, branch by branch…
