INFAMY is the third book in L.P. Maxa's Riffraff Records
series. This is a spinoff series featuring the children of
the main characters from L.P. Maxa's Devil's

series. L.P. Maxa writes some of the most appealing stories
about the unlikeliest of romance trope combinations, rock
stars, and surprise pregnancies. In INFAMY, Landry Cole is a
dedicated surgeon who crosses paths with a wild man drummer
for a hot new band. Over the course of INFAMY, Landry learns
how to let go, and Brody Frost proves to be more dependable
than most people would suspect. An unintended pregnancy
kicks a burgeoning relationship into overdrive.
Some readers might find it hard to believe that, as a
doctor, Landry would accidentally get pregnant. I find the
explanation the author gives to be acceptable, and take it
as an example of how realistically flawed these characters
are. As everybody does from time to time, these characters
make bonehead moves, experience minor victories as well as
tragedies, and try to figure out what to do next after their
best plans get torpedoed. This story has a nice balance
between drama and fun times.
L.P. Maxa gives readers a front row seat to the evolution of
a relationship, from the red-hot hookup to friendship, and
finally revealing the deeper love connection that blossoms.
The shared texts Landry and Brody exchange illustrates how
the relationship changes over a brief period of time. The
complex family dynamics and closely held secrets provide an
intriguing subtext in INFAMY without getting too dismal. As
with L.P. Maxa's previous books, the erotic interludes are
frequent and lots of fun, while still allowing for a story
with substance. The interwoven relationships and
character-driven storytelling are what make INFAMY, and
other L.P. Maxa books so addictive and entertaining.
INFAMY has an unlikely romance that rocks the house.
Brody's friend and fellow bandmate, Talon, plays a major
role in this book. In INFAMY, Talon exudes a sensitivity and
rock star sexiness that is a potent combination that has me
painfully eager to read more about him. The Devil's

extended family is a complicated one, but you can feel the
love everybody has for each other. I look forward to L.P.
Maxa's next book.
Landry Cole's life began when she was nine. Until then
the day-to-day turmoil of her early childhood was the
stuff of nightmares. Her father, his wife, and all her
aunts and uncles showed Landry unconditional love, and
under their care, she bloomed. But she never forgot. Fast
forward to the fifth year of her surgical residency, and
from the outside, Landry's got it going on. Inside,
loneliness and betrayal color her life until she meets
the outrageous and daring Clashing Swell drummer, Brody
Frost.
THE SHORT TERM
Brody's life was golden. He surfed every morning, his
band, Clashing Swell, had just signed with RiffRaff
records, and he was free from emotional attachments.
Until he met Landry Cole. To say she took his breath away
was an understatement. But she was a princess to rock
royalty, and Brody was no one from no where. Sure, the
tour the band was about to undertake would change all
that, but he wanted Landry now. When she told him they
were short term, she wasn't going to be a tour widow, he
thought he'd take whatever she would give him. Little did
he know she was about to give him everything.
