Charli Rae Warren is content with the success of her
bookstore, the Book Barn Princess, but her cousin, Jamal,
has other ideas. He's created a new app that he hopes will
generate more business for Charli's store, along with
creating a generous profit off the app for himself. He's
offered her the tantalizing incentive of having her favorite
author, Lucy Barton, do a signing for the store and tied it
into the app. Unfortunately, someone is taking advantage of
the virtual scavenger app to leave behind a trail of
murders, all based on the author's series. Can Charlie
uncover the real culprit or is her cousin about to be
imprisoned for murder?
The concept of Jamal's app is a fun one, and I wish a
bookstore would create this very same so I could go on my
own virtual scavenger hunt- minus the dead bodies of course!
Kym Roberts beautifully blends together the warm, inviting
ambiance of the bookstore with current smartphone technology
to craft one heck of a fascinating story.
And speaking of the bookstore in PERILOUS POETRY....I'm not
going to lie as I want to visit the Book Barn Princess and
just sit and relish each and every moment in this wonderful
book store! Kym Roberts has crafted a booklover's dream in
the Book Barn Princess. Add to that a darned good cozy
mystery story and some intriguing character developments and
I'm hooked. Princess, the pink armadillo mascot for the
story, is simply the icing on the wonderful cake!
PERILOUS POETRY is the third book in the Book
Barn Mystery series but readers can jump right in
and enjoy the story line without reading the first two
books. However, I intend to go back and read the first two
books as Charli and the town of Hazel Rock, Texas, are just
sheer fun. Besides, who can resist a book about a bookstore
with a pink armadillo as its mascot? I can't wait to visit
some more with these fun characters!
Charli Rae Warren doesn’t plan on striking it rich as the
owner of an independent bookstore in Hazel Rock,
Texas—especially one with a pink armadillo as its mascot.
But when an ingenious advertising campaign puts her business
on the map, it ropes in some deadly publicity . . .
Charli can’t believe writer Lucy Barton has agreed to
promote her latest Midnight Poet Society novel at The Book
Barn Princess—or that there’s only a week-and-a-half to
prepare for the signing. It’s all because of The Book
Seekers, a smartphone app created by her cousin Jamal
exclusively for Charli’s bookstore, which sends fans on a
virtual scavenger hunt around town for a chance to meet the
bestselling author. But as soon as it goes live, people turn
up dead . . .
Someone’s using The Book Seekers to track victims and
copycat the fictional Midnight Poet Society homicides, and
horrified locals suspect Jamal could be the mastermind
behind the crimes. While Charli readies the Barn for a
stampede of new customers, it’ll take true grit to shelve
the culprit before her brainy cousin gets locked behind
bars, Ms. Barton backs out of the visit, and she finds
herself up a creek—with a serial killer holding the paddle!
