This novel wins the thriller of the year in my book so far!
The novel, EMMA IN THE NIGHT written by Wendy Walker will be
one that you tell yourself you have to finish before putting
it down. The suspense, the surprises, and the family secrets
will have you obsessed with finishing it for the answers.
Walker takes a subject such as a child kidnapping, every
parent's worst fear, and turns it into a spellbound novel
that will stay with you days after finishing it. Never once
did I feel lost, as one of the characters would reminisce on
things of the past. It is very easy to keep up.
One night two sisters, Cass and Emma disappear without a
trace. At the ages of fifteen and seventeen with Emma being
the oldest no one had seen are heard from them for three
years. Then one day all of that changes when Cass returns
without her sister. She tells a story that leaves everybody
asking, even more, questions and trying to find out what has
become of Emma. A forensic psychiatrist, Dr. Abby Winters
uncovers family secrets of a mother who is narcissistic.
Does this all fit in with Emma's disappearance? There is a
race against time as they try to unravel what has become of
Emma. But will it be too late?
EMMA IN THE NIGHT is a suspense thriller that keeps giving
you more questions when you think you have figured it out! I
love it when a novel can do that. It makes a surprising
treat. Walker is able to feed your anticipation with the
turn of every page. I really enjoyed EMMA IN THE NIGHT by
Wendy Walker and highly recommend it if you love suspense
novels!
One night three years ago, the Tanner sisters
disappeared: fifteen-year-old Cass and seventeen-year-old
Emma. Three years later, Cass returns, without her sister
Emma. Her story is one of kidnapping and betrayal, of a
mysterious island where the two were held. But to
forensic psychiatrist Dr. Abby Winter, something doesn't
add up. Looking deep within this dysfunctional family Dr.
Winter uncovers a life where boundaries were violated and
a narcissistic parent held sway. And where one sister's
return might just be the beginning of the crime.
