What would you give up for the very thing you want above
all in your life? Would you give up all that you hold?
Your honor? Your life? Illarion has lived enslaved by the
very beings that he hates and now the time has come to
fight. When Edlyn comes into his life everything changes
and not all for the better. Can the two find a way to
trust one another and find a way to a happy ever after?
DRAGONMARK brings readers a story of a love that lives
and the people willing to fight for it.
Illarion goes through so much pain in his story. Love is
lost and found and he pays a mighty price. I liked the
way Illarion and Edilyn interact. Their relationship is
nice to watch as it strengthens. Not only do we get to
see the main characters story but readers are also
treated to visits from some of the other past and
favorite characters of this world. It was nice to see
many characters from past books coming together. I really
enjoy the world that this author has woven but this book
seems to have parts that are retelling the previous story
making things repetitious at times.
I did like Illarion and Edilyn. He is a good man who
faces so much and she is a strong woman who deals with
her own sorrow. The two make a good couple and I enjoyed
seeing them fight for what they wanted and for what was
right. Emotions are strong in this story. We get a lot of
Illarion's past and what he went through. I would have
liked a bit more on Edilyn and what she goes through.
Their story is a nice read that brings not only the main
characters to life but the secondary characters breathe a
lot of life into this book. The author weaves action,
romance and great camaraderie throughout this book. The
main characters endure so much and it was nice to see the
strength that they have to come out of it all on the
winning end of things.
The first book in the Dark-Hunter world that kicks off the
thrilling Dragons Rising mini series.
Centuries ago, Illarion was betrayed–a dragon made human
against his will, then forced to serve humanity as a
dragonmount in their army, and to fight for them in barbaric
wars, even while he hated everything about them. Enslaved
and separated from everyone he knew and from his own dragon
brothers, he was forced into exile in a fey realm where he
lost the only thing he ever really loved.
Now he has a chance to regain what’s been lost—to have the
one thing he covets most. But only if he gives up his
brothers and forsakes the oaths he holds most dear. Yet what
terrifies him most isn’t the cost his happiness might incur,
it’s the fact that there is just enough human in his
dragon’s heart that he might actually be willing to pay it
and betray everything and everyone– to see the entire world
burn...
