I haven't read any chick-lit for a while, but I am sure
they used not to be so full of strong language and
obsessing about sex. Nothing wrong with that, provided the
reader knows what she's getting. You might want to pass ONE
SIZE FITS ALL around your circle of girlfriends, but I
suggest keeping it away from your granny. This is third in
a set of books called Classy
'n' Sassy.
Classy and Sassy is the name of an exotic lingerie shop,
where Penny Woodley works for the two lady bosses, her best
friends. At least, they are at the start of the story. Bryn
and Mia are definitely there for her when she announces
she's divorcing her husband Jack. She's only mid-twenties,
so she can find plenty of other guys. But when Penny's
bills inexplicably mount up and she needs a raise, none is
forthcoming. As a well-raised young lady she's never had to
economise, and the friends explain that this is just what
she'll have to do. And by the way, her marketing degree has
been so helpful in the past, but would she mind just
putting clothes back on hangers while the new younger hire
rearranges their social media campaign? This part of the
story is really well written showing how the gradual
changes in attitude of all three women come about and how
their aims diverge.
Penny, not one to waste her newly single status, soon
acquires an admirer, a decent, hardworking guy named Thor.
He's a school football coach and unfortunately for her, all
the soccer moms think he's droolworthy. Can she cope? It's
not that she doesn't trust Thor, but the end of her
marriage has left her pretty insecure. And he did leave a
trail of girls behind him during his student days.
We also get Thor's point of view which leaves us in little
doubt about his attitudes, and I was pleased to see that
he's very responsible about sex. However with family
issues on the table, there's more happening in the
background than first meets the eye.
All in all I was much more impressed by this book when I'd
reached the end than I was from the first couple of
chapters. Stephanie Haefner seems to be writing about
twentysomethings who start to grow up only when challenged.
ONE SIZE FITS ALL is a fun and sexy read which will get you
thinking about the nature of friendship and love.
In this saucy, sexy romp—third in the Classy 'n' Sassy
series—a lingerie shop marketing director is ready to get
back in the dating game after divorcing her cheating
ex-husband. Will she finally find her one and only this time
around?
Penny used to love working at Classy 'n'
Sassy Lingerie shop as the marketing director for her best
friends Bryn and Mia, but lately, hearing stories of love
and passion from customers is grating on her nerves since
she’s been unlucky in the love department and is still
recovering from her messy divorce. Determined to get back
out there and have a little fun, Penny wants to start
looking for the man who will truly be the love of her life,
but the hunky bouncer at her favorite bar keeps catching her
eye...
As a football coach and bouncer at the local
watering hole, Thor’s always had pretty good luck with
women. But he’s tired of that life, and wants to find that
“something” that's been missing in all of his past
relationships. And there’s no way a bar is the place to meet
that special someone, right? Although lately, when Bryn and
Mia and their newly-single, hot-as-sin, classy, and
sassy friend Penny stop by for drinks, he’s been
thinking maybe the bar is exactly the right place to be…
Written with Stephanie Haefner’s signature sexy wit,
One Size Fits All is a perfect laugh-out-loud love story.
