Romance Historical

Cade Cavendish is the black sheep of his family and a rumored pirate. His role as the black sheep of the family is really important to him. After years of missing and assuming to be dead Cade is back to England with one purpose to avenge his twin brother's treatment at the hands of the French. He can't share his secret with his brother, the less his brother Rafe know, the better.

So he relishes his world of rebellion, deception, and seduction. But when an unexpected run-in at his twin brother's estate with a ravishing maid leads her to believe he's actually a viscount, Cade's renegade life is thrown wildly off- kilter.

Miss Danielle LaCrosse has been orphaned and left penniless. She has dressed up as a boy and joined the smuggler in order to find her mother in England. Now as a spy for England she desperately needs a maid position in Rafe's household. When she learns that the handsome devil gentleman is not her employer the Viscount, but rather his infamous brother, she can't resist the tempting rogue. Can she do her duty or falls for the handsome devil?

Valerie Bowman is one of my favorite authors. Her writing is merry, captivating and brilliant. NEVER TRUST A PIRATE is another satisfying historical romance by her. Cade and Danielle are both extremely talented and skilled, both have secrets and hiding their secrets really good. Their adventures and romance make this book really interesting with fast pace. I absolutely enjoyed reading this book with great characters and twist and turn in the story. Of course I kept waiting to have Lucy, as one of the secondary characters in this book too but I guess she has done enough mischievous since the first book in this series. This is a great, witty romance that is hard to put it down. Thank you Valerie Bowman!

SUMMARY

The rules of engagement were never so scandalous. . . A rumored pirate and the scurrilous black sheep of his well-to- do family, Cade Cavendish relishes his world of rebellion, deception, and seduction. Nothing and no one can hold him to be the duty-bound, honorable man he is expected to be. But when an unexpected run-in at his twin brother’s estate with a ravishing, raven-haired maid leads her to believe he’s actually a viscount, Cade’s renegade life is thrown wildly off-kilter. And even though a case of mistaken identity can be quickly set to rights, matters of the heart are quite different… Miss Danielle LaCrosse is startled to learn that the handsome gentleman who radiates sin and has the devil in his eyes is not her employer the Viscount, but rather his infamous brother. A former heiress, orphaned and left penniless, Danielle has more than a few secrets of her own. Cade may be skilled at coaxing even the most hidden desires out of Danielle but can he earn her trust—and win her heart—as they embark on an adventure to confront a dangerous enemy from both of their pasts . . . and uncover the identity of the so-called Black Fox along the way?
