Despite her name, shop-worker Noelle has never been a huge
fan of Christmas. The busy holiday causes too much stress in
her life, but on Christmas Eve she finds herself locked in
the store, Simons, until morning. The night she spends
locked into her work place provides Noelle the enviable
opportunity to raid every department at Simons as she
"window shops" until morning.
As you can imagine, all that roaming around gets tiring, and
just as she settles into her home away from home, Noelle
hears a jarring bang. Just as she is about to go to sleep,
Noelle hears a bang. A woman named Charlie stumbles into
Noelle's life and declares herself Noelle's guardian angel.
What a preposterous idea, but as the night turns to day,
Noelle faces the demons of her past and eventually learns to
find happiness in the Christmas Spirit.
A SHOE ADDICT'S CHRISTMAS is a wonderful book. Beth
Harbison spins a fairy
tale around Christmas. While I hate to say it, I am not
a big Christmas person. However, this book really made
me smile and made me wonder how my life might have turned
out differently if I changed a few things. That is always a
sign of a good book. One that makes you think and reflect.
Although it is no longer Christmas, A SHOE ADDICT'S
CHRISTMAS is a wonderful read that captures the essence of
the winter holiday, but does not need to be read only in
December.
From the author of the beloved bestseller Shoe Addicts
Anonymous comes a heartwarming twist on a classic tale
filled with holiday cheer.
Noelle is not a fan of the holidays and to make matters
worse, she is at a crossroads in her life when it seems that
love and adventure are no longer possible. When she stays
late at her job in a department store on a snowy Christmas
Eve she accidentally gets locked in after closing. She isn’t
too concerned about the prospect of spending the night in
the store…until a woman appears out of nowhere and tells
Noelle that she’s her guardian angel. Soon Noelle finds
herself camped out in the shoe department facing several
“ghosts” of Christmases past, present, and future...
Will visiting the holidays of yesterday and tomorrow help
Noelle see the true spirit of Christmas? And will the love
she has longed for all her life be the best surprise gift of
all?
