If you're into insta-love, then THE ONE FOR ME is
probably gonna
scratch your itches. While Crystal has been lusting after
Mark for a while,
he doesn't notice her until she falls into his arms -
literally. Once she
does, he is 100% into her in a matter of moments. Without
knowing her
name, he decides she is his "angel" (and calls her that
all. the. time.) and
that they'll build a life together. That's it, full
steam ahead, no looking
back. Prior to Crystal, he was a one-and-done type of
fellow and now he's
into monogamous commitment.
I barely finished this one. I just couldn't buy the
premise and the way that
Landon set up these characters. I don't buy that Mark is
the type of dude
who would build his life around a risk like this, nor do I
buy that Crystal
would be comfortable with Mark's instant control. The sex
is hot, can't lie,
but didn't feel grounded in these characters or their
choices for it to fully
work for me.
However! THE ONE FOR ME is steamy and fluffy and could
definitely be right up your alley!
Reading romance is so often about fantastical escapism and
perhaps
that's what you're looking for. If that's the case,
then climb aboard with
this story. Landon's writing sparkles, and there are
loads of folks all over
the internet who really resonated with these characters,
this story, and
this series. I am perhaps in the minority! If you read
this one and enjoy it,
please let me know what I'm missing!
The New York Times bestselling author of Watch
Over Me delivers a steamy new novel of irresistible
attraction in her popular Danvers series.
Mark DeSanto has never denied himself anything—especially in
the bedroom. Rich, attractive, and successful, men envy him
and women desire him. But when a sweet, guileless beauty
faints at his feet, he suddenly finds himself wondering if
it’s time to look for something more lasting....
Until her divorce, Crystal Webber never knew what it was
like to follow her heart. Now she wants to experience all
life has to offer. So when she catches a glimpse of Mark
DeSanto in the halls of Danvers International, she’s
instantly infatuated—and eager to join him for a walk on the
wild side. Fainting at his feet wasn’t her plan, but at
least it got his attention....
But for the first time, Mark wants to take things slow,
which—considering the electricity between them—may take far
more willpower than he’s ever had.
