Kat and Tristan are now almost officially stepsiblings,
as Kat's father Clayton Roberts and Tristan's mother are
engaged, what's worse is that Kat genuinely likes
Tristan's mother, Lizzie Harlow. Tristan Kingsley and Kat
Roberts, who had begun their relationship before they
even knew their parents were seeing each other, have been
struggling to keep their affair secret, but photos made
public exacerbate their torment. Kat and Tristan are up
to their necks in secrets, and this is not Kat's forte.
But then an additional, and seemingly insurmountable,
problem further threatens the lovers' happiness.
CLIMAX is, up to a point, in the tradition of classic
tragedies. There is a lot of drama, still it feels very
real, and I kept asking myself throughout: "How would I
react?", "What would I do?", which shows how genuine the
story feels. I never expected this series to be so
riveting, and the reason lies mostly in the superlative
writing skills of Lauren Smith.
Boy, can this woman write!
Ms. Smith displays such eloquence at conveying the
passion that consumes Kat and Tristan, the crushing lows
and the indescribable highs of first love, the
debilitating pain at never being able to see the beloved
one again, that Kat and Tristan's emotions become our
very own. Yet, Ms. Smith doesn't dwell on the characters'
physical attributes, and yet I could picture them all
vividly. Her talent for descriptions extends to
everything: the grand English estates, Christmas time in
London, and the Cambridge campus. The sex scenes are
passionate, lovely, and playful at the same time. And
CLIMAX has such a spectacular ending that it is where I
thought of Greek tragedies! I enjoyed Her
British
Stepbrother series so much more than I ever thought I
would, and CLIMAX is the culmination of a great love
story!
A love so forbidden. A passion so undeniable . . .
It's time for Kat to face the truth. She can't resist sexy
playboy Tristan--he's too deliciously seductive, and much
too good at making her melt, body and soul. With
photographic proof plastered all over London, the whole
world now knows she's fallen for this British bad boy.
There's just one problem. Their parents got married and now
Tristan is her stepbrother. They shouldn't be together, but
Tristan always gets what he wants, and he wants her
more than anything. Behind closed doors, this only makes
every moment they spend together hotter, every kiss deeper,
as the passion between them blazes higher . . .
