HIS ROYAL PRINCESS is a "Billionaire Boys Club" novella.
The hero and heroine who meet in this story were first
introduced as an engaged couple in ONCE UPON A
BILLIONAIRE, so readers who haven't read that book may
want to read this novella first. HIS ROYAL PRINCESS is
very different from previous books in this series
primarily because both main characters are wealthy, and
the only major difference between them is that the
heroine is royalty and therefore has a higher social
status.
Although having a princess break from tradition and fall
in love with a non-royal guy isn't an uncommon plot, I
like how Jessica Clare avoids expected scenarios as well
as character behavior and reactions. When princess, and
devoted fan, Princess Alexandra surprises actor Luke
Houston on the set of his current movie the results are
slightly comical and leave them both with a budding
attraction. I like how Luke is basically your average
nice guy in spite of being a celebrity and that he's
aware of the Hollywood phoniness he sometimes
participates in. Princess Alexandra prefers those close
to her to just call her Alex, and is sometimes a walking
contradiction -- a somewhat shy and sheltered proper
princess, as well as being a strong woman who laughs and
enjoys some of the same things that regular people do.
This intriguing mix snares Luke's interest almost
immediately. Although HIS ROYAL PRINCESS is only a
novella, Jessica Clare indicates in the story when weeks
have passed in between certain passages. I like that Luke
and Alex get to know each other and stretch out the
sexual tension for a few weeks before taking their
intimacy to the next level. The courtship between Luke
and Alex is fun, sexy, and a blast to read about.
HIS ROYAL PRINCESS is thoroughly charming, erotic, and
royally entertaining. The hero and heroine in HIS ROYAL
PRINCESS are adorable together in the way that they are
beguiled by each other. I liked the touch of having the
heroine's mother take on the supportive-yet-whacky friend
role in the story. Jessica Clare is one of my favorite
contemporary romance authors and I can't wait to read her
next book!
Their romance led to a royal wedding in Once Upon a Billionaire. Now see how it all began for Princess Alexandra of Bellissime and American actor Luke Houston in this novella from New York Times bestselling author Jessica Clare. As heir to the throne of Bellissime, Princess Alexandra is supposed to be cool and calm...not crushing on a movie star. When she hears that Luke Houston is filming a scene for his next movie in her tiny country, however, she can’t resist sneaking onto set to get a glimpse of the Hollywood hunk. When Alex is almost caught on set by the press, she ducks into the first available hiding place—only to find herself in Luke’s private trailer, and getting much more than just a glimpse of him. It’s an up close and personal encounter that sets her heart aflutter, and sets her mind on some very unladylike plans to get to know him better...
