DRAW ME CLOSE is book three in the Hearts and Crafts series by Nicole Michaels. Reading this story has made me curious to go back and read the previous books in the series, but I was still able to follow along without having read them. DRAW ME CLOSE wouldn't be as mesmerizing a story if Nicole Michaels had not decided to tell the story from alternate perspectives the way she has. There is so much history between the hero and heroine that having the characters tell their own stories gives the reader valuable insight into their way of thinking.

After eight years apart, fate seems to have had a hand in bringing Lindsey Morales and Derek Walsh together again. Lindsey is friends with bride-to-be Anne, and Derek is friends with groom-to-be Mike—chaos and much frustration ensues. I love books with a hero and heroine who have a past. There is so much pain, as well as love, that still connects Lindsey and Derek after so much time has past. I think Nicole Michaels does a superb job of capturing all of the drama and swirl of strong emotions, without having things spiral out of control and take a toxic turn. Lindsey and Derek throw each other off balance without meaning to, and I like that they are on an equal footing in that respect. Lindsey and Derek are both incredibly complex and flawed characters. Their setbacks and victories had me glued to the page and fretting over the possible outcomes for the characters. I love the feeling of catharsis Lindsey and Derek have in DRAW ME CLOSE.

DRAW ME CLOSE is a realistic yet wonderfully romantic story of two people who get a second chance at love. Having a history together gives this romance added depth and makes the passion hotter. Nicole Michaels does a brilliant job of stretching the sexual tension until the hero and heroine are pushed to the limit and give in to their desires. Nicole Michaels writes an ending that does justice to the couple and is unique to them. The supporting characters, like Derek's young son as well as friends and family, add to the enjoyment of the story without distracting from the romance. I look forward to the next book by Nicole Michaels.
