"Deeply erotic and deliciously sentimental"

Romance Contemporary

A FRIENDLY ARRANGEMENT is Book 2 in Christine Warner's Friends First series. Although I hadn't read the previous book in this series, after reading A FRIENDLY ARRANGEMENT, I am dying to give it a whirl. I love "friends-to-lovers" stories. Nothing is more truly romantic than two people who have that bond of friendship and adding a little extra heat to the mix. A FRIENDLY ARRANGEMENT does not disappoint and is perfect for readers who love "friends-to-lovers" romances.

Although A FRIENDLY ARRANGEMENT has familiar and favorite tropes, Christine Warner does a great job fleshing out the main characters and adding depth to the story. Having the story told from two perspectives is crucial in understanding the characters and made me enjoy A FRIENDLY ARRANGEMENT even more. Both Holly and her best friend Roth are flawed and complex characters. Holly is an interesting character and I sympathized with her need for independence from her family. I like how Holly and Roth are supportive of each other and their complicated family relationships.

You can't help but feel the chemistry between Holly and Roth as you read A FRIENDLY ARRANGEMENT. Christine Warner expertly captures the love that these two characters have always had for each other, and the explosive range of emotions they go through in this story. Because they have such a tight friendship, the steaminess and eroticism they finally give in to is fierce. I love the pacing of this story and the way the romance evolves from fun and flirty to something more passionate and serious. I like how Holly and Roth are slowly seducing each other and the way their desire becomes like a guilty pleasure they can't deny.

A FRIENDLY ARRANGEMENT sizzles and is packed with intense emotion. Christine Warner creates a wildly sexy story about characters you care about. The super steamy scenes and lighter moments balance out the drama and make a balanced and entertaining story. A FRIENDLY ARRANGEMENT got me invested in the characters and made me laugh and cry. I can't wait to read the next book by Christine Warner!

SUMMARY

What happens when your plus one becomes "the one"? Holly Haggerty and Roth Esterly are two besties with everything in common--they're neighbors, career-driven, and commitment-phobes. Tired of always being set up on dates by well-meaning friends and family, they take matters into their own hands: they will be the other's plus one--a little friendly arrangement between friends. Easy…until a steamy night where they cross the line. But that's okay, they'll add an addendum--one that includes a little action between the sheets…on top of the sheets…and without the sheets. But there are rules. Dating and sex are exclusive until one of them decides to terminate the agreement. No slumber parties. And if either party becomes emotionally involved they will break things off with no hard feelings. When unexpected news changes their plans and turns their fun arrangement into something more serious, Holly and Roth must come to terms with what's more important--what they thought they wanted, or what they really need.
