One hundred and fifty years ago, a killer struck down a
rancher and his wife. The crime was never solved. Has he
come back from THE HIDDEN to do it again?
Estes Park, Colorado is a place of serenity that is now
home to Scarlet Barlow. She works at a small museum attached
to a B&B. It just happens to be the same building where the
original murder took place. When Scarlet takes pictures of
a majestic elk only to have the pictures turn out to be not
an elk but a dead couple, she is in trouble and calls the
only man she knows will help - her ex-husband FBI Agent
Diego McCullough.
Diego was with his soon-to-be ex-partner who was leaving
Miami and had joined the Krewe of Hunters, a unit that
deals with "unusual" cases. Diego had luckily been
asked to join them. He gets a call from his ex, joins the
Krewe, and finds himself flying to investigate.
THE HIDDEN is classic Heather Graham, who keeps her amazing
Krewe alive with intriguing mysteries, great characters and
just the right amount of romance to soothe the hearts of
romance readers. I loved Scarlet and Diego and was
immediately caught up in their story as much as the
mystery. The supporting cast is varied with people you will
like, be sympathetic toward, and others you are hoping are
the bad guys. I must add that there were also some very
interesting ghosts that helped the "Krewe." As usual Ms.
Graham got me. I was unable to guess the culprit, but
certainly enjoyed trying. Though I have never been to
Colorado, as the surroundings were described, I felt as if I
had actually been there. If you haven't read any of Ms.
Grahams Krewe of Hunters you are missing books loaded
with good mystery touched with paranormal helpers (usually
ghosts), intrigue, action and very sweet romance. I have
this on my TRA (to read again) shelf and look forward to
more.
Can the same killer strike again—a hundred and fifty years
later?
Estes Park, Colorado, is a place of serenity. But it wasn't
always so serene. Shortly after the Civil War, Nathan
Kendall and his wife were murdered there, leaving behind a
young son. The crime was never solved.
Now…historian Scarlet Barlow is working at a small museum
attached to a B and B, the same building where that murder
occurred. She recently came to Colorado, reeling after her
divorce from FBI agent Diego McCullough. Diego—who's just
been asked to join the Krewe of Hunters, a unit dealing with
"unusual" situations…
When Scarlet unwittingly takes pictures of people who've
been murdered—just like the Kendalls a hundred and fifty
years before—the police look at her with suspicion. Then the
museum's statues of historic people, including Nathan
Kendall, begin to talk to her, and she knows it's time to
call her ex-husband. Diego heads to Estes Park, determined
to solve the bizarre case that threatens Scarlet's life—and
to reunite with the woman he never stopped loving.
