Nick Brennan is the bar manager at the Double Shot in Pine Mountain.
One morning while heading to work, he smells smoke and sees Joe's
Grocery on fire. Nick used to be a fire fighter and when he learns a little
boy is still inside, he doesn't think twice. He runs in with no back up or
even any protective gear on. When he comes flying out with little Matthew
on his back he is instantly labeled the local hero and everyone wants to
know his story. His only comment is no comment. Nick knows he is no
hero and doesn't want all the attention that comes along with what he did.
ALL WRAPPED UP is the unwrapping of Nick's past and what happened
seven years ago.
Ava is a local reporter who used to live in Pine Mountain. Seven years ago,
after her summer job was over, she packed her bags and left without a word
to anyone. Now she is back and on her way to a local school to cover an
event and smells smoke. After almost being run off the road by fire trucks
and ambulances, she turns around and follows them. She needs a big story
to prove to her boss she learned her lesson five years ago. This could be
her big break. ALL WRAPPED UP is where Ava finds herself staring into
the delicious eyes of the guy who's heart she broke seven years ago. Yes
that's right, Nick Brennan! She can't believe her eyes. Oh, their story is so
good. Nick has never gotten over her.
They both have secrets, and those secrets have left them damaged. They both
come to Pine Mountain with lots of
emotional baggage, and both feel unsure of their futures. Nick is hurting
from something in his past where he lost his career and his best friend.
Will he ever be able to tell Ava about what happened? Can he trust her, or
is she just after a big story? Once again, Kimberly Kincaid has me falling in
love with the main male character, and my heart was breaking for poor Nick.
I still can't believe ALL WRAPPED UP is the final book in the Pine
Mountain series. I have come to love all of the townspeople, and have
giggled and
swooned along with them. I had never read Kimberly Kincaid before this
series, but now I'm excited to find her older books and I am really looking
forward to a new series. Revisiting Pine Mountain was like going home for
me. Everyone knows everyone else and they are all in your business just
like any other small town. The sexual tension between Nick and Ava is
going to drive you wild and have you unable to put down their story until
you reach the very last page.
Christmas is coming to Pine Mountain—and it has a way of
stirring up memories, good and bad. Nick Brennan may manage
the Double Shot bar smooth as good whiskey, but his past is
a hot mess. When he runs into a burning building to save a
little boy, some people start thinking there’s more to his
heroism than holiday spirit. And then the local reporter
assigned to the story turns out to be gorgeous Ava Mancuso,
the girl who got away.
Ava knows what it’s like to have a past. But the changes
she’s seen in Nick since she knew him do more than set off
her natural curiosity—his warm eyes and gruff charm have her
instincts fired up. Still, all the chemistry in the world
doesn’t erase history, even when Nick invites her to his
little sister’s mistletoe wedding. Does he have a heart
under all those secrets? Or is this going to be just another
Christmas past?
