Tara Hollaway is an IRS special agent who is in way over
her head. She is supposed to be collecting back taxes from
super sexy country singer Brazos Rivers. The only problem
is that every time she is around Brazos she becomes star
struck. This is not only a problem for Tara but also for
special agent Nick Pratt, Tara's boyfriend.
DEATH, TAXES, AND SILVER SPURS is the seventh installment
in Diane Kelly's Tara Holloway series. I have read all of
the previous books, but I loved that there
is enough back-story included that you would not be
lost if this is the first book you have read in the
series.
Diane Kelly has a way of writing that pulls you into each
page. Her characters' chemistry is amazingly written. This
book showed different sides to the characters that we had
not seen much of in the previous books. Tara is a sassy,
smart-mouthed, trigger-happy lady. Her reaction to being
around a sexy country singer made her seem even more human
to me. The same goes for Nick.
The storyline is easy to follow. The combination of humor,
romance, and mystery had me turning the pages faster and
faster. I could not put the book down. Diane Kelly is a
marvelous storyteller. She once again has a hit on her
hands!

after all—but Rivers does know how to steal a woman’s heart
with a song…"Better than a refund check from the
IRS!" —Reader to Reader ReviewsMeanwhile,
Tara’s up to her fracking neck with another case: A
natural-gas company with a money trail that is almost as
suspicious as Brazos Rivers’s tax return. Which is to say,
he can’t seem to cough up one. Tara figures the misdeeds of
her celebrity crush must be an oversight. But will she dance
to a different tune…when her tax-evading idol starts evading
her, too?
