Romance Contemporary

If you are looking for a short and sweet little story NOTHING LIKE A COWBOY will definitely satisfy. NOTHING LIKE A COWBOY is Donna Alward's first installment in a series about an on line dating site called NotMy1stRodeo.com. As the website suggests it caters to people looking for a second chance at romance and hopefully love.

Mellisa Walker and Brett Harrison are part of that growing number of adults that are adrift after a bad experience with the wrong person. Falling in love is easy. Getting over a bad relationship is much more difficult.

Melly is willing to give it another try and sets up a profile on NotMy1stRodeo.com. Heck what does she have to lose. If someone gives her a wink or a nod then she gets to decide whether to meet that person. Melly is in the driver's seat so to speak.

Brett isn't sure he really wants to go down that road again but his twin sister has taken things into her own hands and lo and behold Brett has a web profile. Melly thinks Brett has been giving her the wink and nod but actually Manda -- Brett's twin has been the one web browsing.

So when Brett finds himself on a kind of date with Melly he just wants to let the woman down easy. Brett is a bit of a softie and a genuine gentleman. So there is no way he would just shoot down this pretty lady that Manda had kind of set up.

But meeting Melly just may be the luckiest thing to happen to this rancher in a long time. Only time will tell. Will Brett have to actually thank his twin sister for interfering in his love life? Heaven forbid. NOTHING LIKE A COWBOY is a novella which is a nice albeit short introduction to this little series by Donna Alward. Donna Alward is one of my go to authors for heartwarming stories and cowboys. I am such a sucker for a rough tough cowboy softie. Not sure if all the books in the NotMy1stRodeo.com series will be novella size but the premise is cute, fun and sassy.

SUMMARY

Getting back in the saddle has never felt so good…

A NotMy1stRodeo.com Story

Brett Harrison tried marriage once and isn’t anxious for another round. So when his meddling twin sister sets him up on a dating site, he seriously considers strangling her and cancelling. Luckily for him, he’s too much of a gentleman to act on those impulses, and when he meets Melly Walker, he wonders if it’s time to get back in the saddle.

Melly knows exactly where her previous marriage went wrong. She was dazzled by her ex’s big-city charm and strayed too far from her roots. This time, she’s going with tried and true—a dyed-in-the-wool cowboy. Her first few dates net her more duds than studs, but when she meets Brett, she’s ready to get more than just her feet wet.

The principles of trust and compromise are great in theory, but when Melly discovers Brett has his eye on more than just her curves, she questions her judgment and his motives. Is Brett ready to drop his dreams for something as unreliable as love?

Warning: Contains virtual hat-tipping, real-time kissing and sexy times. Yee haw!
