Mystery Woman Sleuth | Mystery Cozy

This fairly new cozy mystery series written by Hannah Dennison is a wonderfully written mystery with lots of colorful hometown characters that will quickly make you want to read the next one. DEADLY DESIRES AT HONEYCHURCH HALL is a delightful story about a small community in Great Britain where the people do not miss a thing and every one knows every one else's business. As one who loves a good cozy murder mystery, this one is not only easy, light hearted, and fun to read but it will be one you cannot put down.

Kat is back with her mom in Little Dipperton in Devon where her mother bought a Carriage House that she is now having renovated to fit her secret life as an author of romance novels that are on the racy side. She writes under the name of Krystalle Storm and has managed to keep it a secret so far even in this town where it seems everyone knows everything except who is responsible for the body that was found on the grounds at Honeychurch Hall.

What a fun story to read with such lovable characters in a lovely place such as Great Britain. The author, Hannah Dennison was inspired to write this novel because of the real life protest against a high-speed railway line that will most certainly ruin and destroy many cottages and land just like in DEADLY DESIRES AT HONEYCHURCH HALL. It looks like we have many more adventures with crew from Honeychurch Hall and all the others in Little Dipperton that I cannot wait to read about in the next novel.

SUMMARY

DEADLY DESIRES AT HONEYCHURCH HALL is the second charming and witty whodunit in Hannah Dennison's amazing cozy series. Set at an English manor house, fans of British mysteries and Downton Abbey are sure to enjoy this contemporary take on murder at the manor house. When the body of a transport minister is discovered in the grounds on Honeychurch Hall, suspicion about his unusual demise naturally falls on the folks in the village. After all, who could possibly want a high-speed train line built in their front yard? News of the murder soon reaches our heroine Kat Stanford's nemesis Trudy Wynne. A ruthless tabloid journalist and the ex-wife of Kat's discarded lover, Trudy is out for revenge. She is also interested in exposing--and humiliating--Kat's mother Iris, who is secretly the international bestselling romance writer Krystalle Storm. As the body count begins to build, Kat becomes inextricably embroiled in the ensuing scandal. Is the minister's death the result of a local vendetta, or could it be connected to her mother's unusual (to say the least) past?
