Western | Romance

Well we are now on book three of the Brides of Bliss County series by Linda Lael Miller. And as expected THE MARRIAGE SEASON is Bex's time up at bat. All three books have centered on women who have shared a special friendship that has lasted from childhood to adulthood. Each of these friends had the same desire to finally find that mister right. All had to go through some detours along the way, but Hadleigh and Melody are now married and on their way to having a family with the love of their life.

THE MARRIAGE SEASON is a wonderfully candid example of a contemporary western with the requisite ranch, horses, kids and dogs—wouldn't be a Linda Lael Miller story without pets. Running a ranch business is a difficult job, but there is so much to offset the hard work. Tate decided that the corporate world left him little or no family time. With the death of his wife, Tate had to rethink his priorities—and he decided his two little sons needed him. Life on a ranch demands a strong work ethic, backbone, and even a certain amount of luck.

Finding the love of your life also takes a bit of luck and more important the courage to put your heart at risk. Both Tate and Bex had hearts that were bruised from past experiences and candidly were reluctant to put their hearts out there again. Their mutual attraction could certainly be handled without making any promises of commitment. This suited them both—at least in the beginning.

But when attraction becomes love then the rules of the game change and that's when the fun starts.

We meet some fabulous new characters in THE MARRIAGE SEASON and are surprisingly touched by a couple of hard headed seniors whose hearts are in the right place but are definitely missing tact. Of course we revisit our friends from the first two books in the Brides of Bliss County series. The Brides of Bliss County novels do not have to be read in order, but it would be a shame to miss some of the most endearing love stories that feature rugged handsome cowboys.

SUMMARY

Will the marriage pact be fulfilled? Return to Mustang Creek, Wyoming, with #1 New York Times bestselling author Linda Lael Miller for more Brides of Bliss County!

Since Hadleigh, Melody and Bex—the best of best friends— entered into a marriage pact, two of them have found (and married) the men of their hearts. But Bex doesn't think she'll be as fortunate as the others. Her own first love died years ago in a faraway war, and Bex has lost hope for a happy marriage of her own. She concentrates on her business, a successful chain of fitness clubs, instead.

Then, when single father Tate Calder comes to Mustang Creek with his two sons in tow, who befriend Bex's eight- year-old nephew, she and the handsome, aloof newcomer are constantly thrown together. But is the marriage season over? Or can a man with doubts about love be the right husband for a woman who wants it all?
